Better off simply looking at the overall aggregate and marking down the scorers. -

It fits entirely with what we have seen and heard from Howe. I loved the idea that he has hundreds of training sessions on a file so that no training session is ever the same, every day the players are doing things a little different to keep them interested. -

Just trying to give them as many minutes as possible. Keeps them all fit and all motivated. You also don't want to be doing the same shit all the time, keeps the players mind focused. Also nice that we were giving young lads a chance to mix with the better players. Wonder if Cornet impressed... -
To Lyon perhaps, but not to a side that doesn't see CM as a current priority. I think we'd all agree that the club sees ST/RW as a priority, but if we aren't willing to spend 45m on those positions we aren't signing Paqueta for that. It would go against everything I have perceived so far.
-
What's strange is the amount Paqueta is mentioned in this thread as some sort of nailed on signing. He's Brunos mate and we showed an interest in January but I can't see any substance past that right now. We are playing hard ball on RW/ST options in terms of fees, so it seems very far fetched that we would throw caution to the wind for a CM, at this stage.
-
We shouldn't be looking to sell him, but we should have a replacement in mind if someone bids more than 40m for him. If we turn down that sort of money we are crackers.
-
Ben Mee is a cracking signing for Brentford.
-
It's incredibly unlikely that we sign Paqueta. Although those who keep suggesting it clearly arent listening to reason. We aren't spending 40m on a CM this window when we are refusing to spend that on a striker.

On the positive side, this weekend is our last boring weekend. From next week we have 3/4 friendlies and the week after the build up to the Forest game. Transfer movement will start happening in the week building up to Forest.
-
Yeah it was spot on. Notice the difference in tone between Hope and Edwards.
-
I thought he must be Hungarian or something.
-
Busy day transfer rumour wise eh.
-
You told me not to offend you the other day but you are essentially offending everyone on this forum with this mindless nonsense.
-
Fuck knas whats going on.
-
I'd have Wijnaldum back on loan like. Don't give a fuck what system you fit him in, he's quality and him and Bruno would soon find a rhythm. And before you bother, I know wages and yada yada.
-
The owners have been very consistent in their ability not to rush a single decision. They were slow on sacking Bruce, slow on appointing Howe, slow on appointing a CEO, refused to be bent over a barrel on Ashworth and they weren't exactly speedy gonzales when signing players in January. However, there decisions have been excellent so far and will be during this transfer window.
-
You should have asked Eddie at the school event he was at the other day.
-
I think we believe we can get him at a decent price. Injuries aside, I think he's a cracking player but let's see how things play out. Looks like striker will be the last position we target, towards the end of the window.
-
Yeah I was saying it half in jest. I wonder which clubs have iffy scouts?
-
I was thinking this earlier and my only conclusions are that, either our scouts don't rate Scamacca that highly or we have better targets. I'm more and more convinced that we will go big on someone like DCL.
-
That's what's odd about transfers these days, not only have you got installments to think about but you have add ons too. When Leeds say 35m, does that mean we could give them say 15m now, 5m in a year and another 15m when certain criteria is met? If we can convince clubs that we will give them money after x games, x goals or our future European qualification, we'll that's a game changer in negotiations. Harrison is 25m, so theoretically we could give him a 5 year deal and pay Leeds 6m a year and get to 30m without much of an outlay. Presumably Leeds will want to replace him. I wonder if they would take Almiron or Murphy?
-
Looks as though they are going all in on Harrison for now. Be interesting to see what our next bid is. What was our last bid 17-22m? And they want 35? I think we have almost certainly unsettled the player at this point. We just need Leeds to come to the table. If we settle somewhere between 25 and 30m, I think it will be a fair compromise. These days figures are still batshit mind and I struggle to get my head around what is and isn't a big fee. We paid 25m for Chris Wood, so it would reasonable to assume we would pay the same for a first choice winger.

Yeah I just watched half an hour of Greame Bailey saying we are interested in everyone, which basically told me that he hasn't a clue who we are really interested in. One thing he did say which I thought was an excellent point; there are more match days in the summer window this year, because of the world cup, allowing for more chance of players getting itchy feet when they aren't starting games etc. It will be interesting to see if someone becomes available after the league starts. Also he seemed adamant that DCL is our top striker target.

Looks like just getting attention to be honest.
