I have no idea what happened in this case but people who hate the police as a rule are weird. The rare time I come across a police officer they are sound but then again, I'm not a criminal. By in large, the police in this country are very good. Of course, there is the odd dick head, perhaps even the odd group of dickheads but we don't have a culture of bad police officers. Thankfully, we have moved away from the thatchers whipping boys days. Now your average police officer is just your average person.

In cricket, the technology works really well but that's because its a stop start game. Football has more fluidity.

Surely there is a technology now, like them vests that all footballers wear, that can automatically tell you when a player is offside. If you can know the exact moment a ball is passed, the vest or whatever tech would be able to pick up whether the forward or defender is further ahead of the play.

Get rid of back room refs. Have the 4th official and the onfield ref. A pitch side monitor will do. Anything contentious, let the 4th official have a look, then the ref.

They absolutely cannot be involved in any of our domestic competitions if this super league goes ahead. Its a simple as that. Scrap the Europa League, combine it with the champions league. There will be plenty of top European clubs to make it worthwhile. Still have Porto, Ajax, Bayern, Dortmund etc. Not interested in football franchise. In fact, I'd argue its not football at all. Football is about relegation, qualifying for Europe, winning trophies. The Super League would be a souless group of cash cows with no competition. On the bright side it will be nice to see Spurs at the bottom of the league, season after season.
