IMO it's purely to try and prevent protests and take the pressure off Mike Ashley. I'm sure at some point in time Kenyon was interested but it will have been tentative at best.

Imagine being in those burning towers on 9/11 and jumping to your death was the only way to end the pain, you wouldn't call that act selfish, would you? Physical pain and mental/emotional pain can do very similar things. Depression can hurt over many years though.

What does anyone gain from criticising Rafa? Of course he makes errors, he's a human. They are few and far between though. Personally, I prefer to save my anger towards the owner, who is much more of a reason behind us losing games.

He has a formula, which he sticks by because it's won him loads. We haven't the squad to win with 5/6 first teamers out but that's Ashleys fault, not Rafa's.

I just think there's been a bit of a "let's get through the first games", mentality from the start. Combined with back luck with injuries and a negative atmosphere around the club it's a sorry state of affairs. However, you have to take into consideration that Lascelles, Lejeune, Shelvey, Rondon, Richie and Yedlin have all missed chunks of these games. Time to press the reset button.
