Take away the Isak/Wissa/Sesko/Pedro/Delap carry on, which while exhaustive is pretty much all the same calamitous situation. Had our transfer looked like: Elanga, Ramsale, Scalvini and let's say a young CM to develop... We'd have likely said that weve just been unlucky on the striker hunt. Every day we keep hearing about forward players but are they blinded to it? Or are they confident they can find a CB late on? Its weird. If we are struggling with forward players, leave yourself some financial wriggle room and come back to it. Go and sort the rest of the squad first. We cannot go into the season with Burn and Schar. We could go into the season with Isak and Osula.

Hasn't our revenue grown by 30% year on year? Not a sarcastic question which it sounds.
-
You mean the last time we were allowed to sign players? Make stupid points and people will call you out on it. Also, have a look at the thread title.

I think that was the case even before Ekitike and I dont think the transfer window has to be a disaster just because, quite a few, targets have gone elsewhere. My biggest gripe is simple, regardless of the forwards situation and our struggles to get anyone in up front, where is the CB or CM? I dont see any reason why those positions aren't done. If the forward situation was our only issue, id be tempted to give them a pass but not signing a CB and some cover in midfield would be criminal.

The Internet is definitely made up with people who i wouldnt consider real football fans, yes. Nobody is in a pub laughing at us, well they are probably laughing but its more likely laughing at how ridiculous people behave whenever there is a bump in the road. Other than a concern among the general fan base, I dont think most fans ascribe to pissing their pants and throwing their toys out the pram simply because things aren't all together rosy in the garden. Ive been through the sibierski days, this is nowt.

We are only a laughing stock in the made up Internet fantasy transfer world though, in the actual real world weve just won a cup, qualified for the CL, have a raft of good players and one of the best managers in the league.

I dont think we were ever signing Sesko. Something has been off with this from the beginning.
-
What's he suggesting here?

If the lad can actually play footy, we need all the players we can muster this season.
-
Would be low key hilarious if in the worst transfer window ever we accidently stumbled on the best player ever to come out of that part of the world.

Now you are just lying. Hes was absolutely fine for Southampton last year, despite being peppered all season.
-
To be fair, they are obsessed with relegation.
-
Hes better than Dubravka. When you are achieving a decent standard, it becomes more and more difficult to find quality that makes the difference. Arsenal signed Kepa, as an example. Goalkeepers like Allison and Ederson dont grow on trees and you are lucky if you get one. Weve had to accept lesser quality, fine but hes still a good keeper and still better than your keeper.
-
Was he the reason for those relegations? And are you saying signing relegated players is bad business? Presumably you wouldnt have taken Delap? Or Dibling? Not that any of them would be remotely interested in playing for Sunderland.
-
Perhaps dont throw so much litter on the pitch and you wont have so many seagulls.... or is the rubbish there to seduce them?
-
Because Ramsdale is a good player and whatever loan fee is likely to come off the top of a transfer fee in the long run?
-
Why was there no signings in 3 windows? Its not because PIF aren't bothered, its because PSR stopped us. One could argue that they could be doing more to circumvent PSR rules like Chelsea have done, fine but ultimately they have hired other people to run the club and they've decided that's not the way to do it.

Or Keith Downie has been told hes flying for his medical and assumed Newcastle. A mistaken presumption perhaps but its the presumption I had.
-
Really surprised that we are bothering to ship him out to South Korea for a few days but its nice that we want him integrated to the group quickly.
-
Alas, such words are only reserved for the cartel.
-
I think we could have signed anyone and that would have been the case. At best Rambo will get a full 90 before the season starts and that wouldnt be enough for Howe to play him day 1 anyway.
-
So minus the 5m PSR which they had paid off, I reckon we will get him for around 20. Just my guess.
