  1. I understand the view that we haven't got much in the way of strikers but Shola isn't much better TBF (although i'd have him as first choice). I'd probably play Lovenkrands for the pace.
  2. Meh... you can see why he's gone there. Support is about all we've got up on them right now. I can imagine Martinez is a fantastic catch for young players. I think he's talented too but i don't think they will last in the premiership. Moses is a good player but i don't see why we should get all worked up about losing him TBH. He's far from certain to be a good premiership player.
  3. Yes, i also saw him absolutely boss the game at the back in general for us. He takes control far moreso than Colo, not that Colo had a bad game either. They were both good. Shame for most of the dross in front of them.
  4. Carroll was abysmal. He couldn't look less like he would score.
  5. Trying not to be a complete idiot and overboard like some on here, my views are these; Harper -6 Quiet enough day had a couple of stops to make Taylor- 6 His crossess caused problems for them, shaky at the back Williamson- 8 Won everything, let down by midfield Coloccini- 7 Barely put a foot wrong Aanholt(sp)- 8 Looked brilliant going forward Routledge- 7 One of our few bright players Butt- 4 Shit, usual dross Smith- 5 Poor as recent form Guthrie- 6 At least got involved toward the end Nolan- 5 Apart from one shot at the start was invisible Carroll- 5 Won a few early headers, then was useless toward the end Ranger- 7 Should have started, looked sharp. Pancrate- 6 Actually thought he was ok Really should have beaten a very poor 10 man Leicester. However, i think when Jonas returns he will link up well with the dutch lad, which is a plus for the period that Jose is out.
  6. Me too, but I'll worry about that once we are guaranteed promotion. Until then I hope they lose every week. correct answer. great result for us. now come on Sheff Utd Are WBA home or away?

    Players in public

Saw Bent last night in the metro centre.
  8. This is turning into one of our best weeks of the season. It will be interesting to see how Forest react to a defeat.
  9. In that case he might even be able to cover on the left wing in an emergency.
  10. Carroll does the first bit right, by winning the headers but often fails to do anything with it.

    Xisco

It seems clear to me that there is something about him the current regime simply don't like, which is a shame because he doesn't seem any worse than a couple of our strikers.
  12. In that case he will probably start at left back with Taylor coming in. I worry with Taylor at right back though.
  13. You are correct, it should have been.
  14. Wrong IMO. Moses would be nice but Hughton will end up getting a loanee if he can't sign him. That might not put us any better off but we won't be worse off. I also think Lovenkrands improvement in form has made a huge difference in our thinking.
  15. You said we didn't have a striker. You said nothing about quality. IMO Hughton is holding out for someone of abit better calibre (i.e a Moses or Beckford), if not he will sign someone like Vaughan on loan after the window. Apart from this, it has been a pretty good window.
  16. Ameobi, Ranger, Lovenkrands and Carroll could all be considered strikers but i'm sure you will ignore that. lol I said could.
  17. Ryan Taylor? Yes, Taylor is a massive liability. Where as i think Kadar's a good defender. EDIT: Although, if Taylor is ok, i think Hughton might plump for him in place of the new lad.
  18. Ameobi, Ranger, Lovenkrands and Carroll could all be considered strikers but i'm sure you will ignore that.
  19. Harper Kadar Williamson Coloccini Van Aanholt Smith Guthrie Routledge Jonas Nolan Carroll Is something like the line up i expect. I'd prefer Ranger and Lovenkrands to start up front but i expect Hughton to have a tight starting 11.
  20. "Hopefully of doing business over the next couple of days, very keen." Is what Hughton said earlier.
  21. Even though i have my doubts over whether i think this will go through, i must say the Hughton interview did look encouraging. He's kept fairly low key so far but seemed fairly confident in his interview, it might have been because he knew about the other two coming in today though.
