If Loven scores he will go down as a mini cult hero, not that he already isn't. The guy deserves a pat on the back, i just hope his mind is in it.

Couldn't have asked for more than that.

Harper Simpson Taylor Coloccini Enrique Smith Nolan Guthrie Jonas Shola Carroll I can see Taylor playing instead of Simpson though (not sure on his situation). Long ball game again 2-0 Shola brace

"My best times have been with managers who rated me." What a pointless thing to say.

I always believe that in a managers time at a club there is always a " point of no return" and it's a matter of time before something gives. Even if Benitez gets fourth this season it's still an underachievement for the club and IMO he will not be in charge this time next year.
-
That's it though, a shell of Solano is better than most of the chamionships right midfielders. For 10 games on a nothing wage? Hardly going to cripple the club is it?
-
IMO he's retained the same amount of fitness and ability as Beckham, who still applies his trade at one of the biggest clubs in the world. Let me guess "that's different"? Why did West Ham let him go for basically nowt then, as we did, and Villa before that and us before that? In fairness, when we let him go in the past, it was down to a fall out with Sir Bobby the first time (over the playing for Peru thing), and the 2nd time, he wanted to move south for 'Family Reasons'. Niether case seemed to be due to his ability at the time(s). Can't comment on the reasons for being aloowed to leave West Ham, or his last 2 clubs (in Greece and Peru respectively). Basically the same points i've just made. Although, they will be ignored. f***ing hell. None of that explains why the clubs have let him go for peanuts, does it? Other clubs decision making have no influence on my opinion's because i don't know the situation of every other club in the world and neither do you (even if you think you do). At a guess; West Ham- Couldn't afford him and had managerial changes Villa- Got Milner

At no point was a comparison made between the ability of Solano and Beckham. What it said was that if Beckham can maintain his level of fitness and ability for Milan, then Nobby can do so for a Championship club. I won't repeat it a third time.

As for us, one of Bobby's biggest mistakes was letting Nobby go and second time around he wasn't cut out for the premiership, simple.

So you are guessing It's fun being the miserable one, it convinces people that you know what you are talking about when things go tits up, which it always does at this club anyway.

How many people use a product based on seeing it on a football shirt? I have never felt inclined to buy Chang Beer/Carlsberg etc after watching a Merseyside derby. I dont think Northern Rock get too much business on the back of seeing a fat geordie in a shirt tbh Incredibly short sighted. Advertising is far more complex than that.

I'll help you. He's probably had just over half a dozen good games this season. So lets ignore the change in ability of his team mates, the league he's playing in, manager, level of enthusiasm that would result from trying to prove yourself in a new team & a new league. The way a players mentality would be effected by all of the above & in turn effect his decision making during a game. Even if it were a lack of motivation to fully play at the standard he's capable of which is one option, how could you blame him. We're top of the league, he has our joint most assists, the majority of the play goes through him when attacking. Our defence is already the best in the league, with him tracking back at the standard he is now. He's still getting into Argentina's first team, yet you expect more? Same old nonsense. Take our best players, set a stupidly high standard for them and have a moan when they dont live up to your personal expectations because they arent robotic. Totally agree.
-
If Guthrie and Taylor can cause problems with their crossing ability then Nobby will tear most defences apart. He could contribute significantly considering he can play at right back too. On a minimum contract, month to month basis he could be a good face to add to the squad. Creativity is something we've been crying out for.
-
I expect the club to be quite "hush hush" about their business. Wouldn't shock me if we signed a couple of players out of the blue, like Kevin Nolan last January.
-
Burnley missed a trick with Alan Irvine IMO. Can see them slipping into the abyss after the next appointment TBH.
-
It shouldn't happen but it does in every paper, every day, up and down the country. The reason that they get away with it is because most people can't be arsed to complain and/or want the publicity anyway.

You are at least 14 hours too late. Verdict = Source shit

Shola's goalscoring record is almost as abysmal as his ability.
-
Was going to say that Villa fans don't rate Carew that highly but i think someone already mentioned it.
-
IMO Carroll has been excellent for us this season, he's caused problems for every defence he has come against and been one of the main reason why we are top of the league. I respect the fact that goals are important, especially for a striker, however Carroll offers something different. We are all entitled to our opinion though.
-
He did score goals in the champions league but Carroll has never been given an opportunity in one of the most attacking teams in europe and in one of the best teams in the premiership has he? So you don't think a 21 year old Shola is capable of more than 4 goals in this league? In this team, no. So you don't think a 21 year old Carroll would have scored more with the likes of Nobby and Robert whipping in crosses? As someone said before Ameobi has had his chance and has proved himself shite. Carroll has not.

If Carroll can put himself about in the premier league like he has in the Championship then he will become a better player than Shola. Shola does nothing in the premiership, absolutely nothing, so he won't be hard to surpass.
