I have to disagree i am not saying officals are bent, but the decisions that have gone against us in the last two games have cost us the macth end of story. They have played a part, not cost us the matches. We did that ourselves. an offside goal in the 80 something minute, didn't cost us a point? two blatant red cards and another offside decision going against us wouldn't have completely turned the game in our favour? A dodgey pen against Fulham in the 90th min gave us an extra 2 points.

The fines for long shots has been blown out of proportion, If i remember correctly it was a way for raising money for charity, If a player didnt get a long shot on target or something like that then he would have to put money (£10 i think) in a jar and then at the end of the season they would give it to charity. yep which is an excellent record no doubt BUT he still does things that irritate the hell out of me (and im not talking about the missed penalties) Fugazi you're right. Defoe's goal shouldnt have been given I've never been a big fan of Keane but he's impressed me a lot this year, his movement is fantastic. He has good technique as well, a few years back when he was linked with us most on here laughed at the thought but im pretty sure most would have him now, Im sure Shearer has always been a big fan so if rumours are to be believed and Shearer does become manager soon then expect a fair few papers to be linking us with Keane.

How can Smith get any sort of consistency if Allardyce picks our strongest 11? Smith wouldn't be playing. Thats debatable, Smith could partner Owen or Martins. Viduka is quite injury prone and doesnt have great mobility but he is a better goal scorer. Owen and Viduka wont work imo because both aint quick nor do they close defenders down, i bet defenders have the easiest game of their career if it was Owen and Viduka up front. A good point and I'm not surprised it's you making it. Course, the stats people wouldn't have thought about that one, either. All they can do is count goals and because Viduka scores more, Owen scores more, Martins scores more, they're all better players and Smith is absolute dogshit. Well, bollocks to the best front PAIRING for the TEAM. Exactly thats why i dont think Owen and Viduka will be good up front, They dont close the defenders down nor can either of them link up. When defenders aint closed down it gives that team time for the defender to pick his pass which is starting off an attacking move, when Smith plays up front and he closes the defenders down it means they cant happily pass the ball to their creative players but instead need to get rid of the ball so it has a good chance of going out of play or to 1 of our players meaning we get possession back. Also with Owen and Viduka up front i would bet the opposing defence would push up.

Pretty good read imo, SA does talk sense at times but he needs to realise goin to places like Derby and Wigan and playing for the draw is unacceptable, Most people at Newcastle are willing to give SA time as long as we are showing improvement.

Spot on. The moaners won't be bothered about any of that though. I kinda feel sorry for Smith because as a player he obviously wants to start every game but it must be hard for him knowing he aint playing well because he is out of position and then getting shit off the fans for his poor performances. I remember Smith up front for Leeds and he was good, he's as much of a midfielder as Martins is a RW yet when Martins was on the right SA was abused on here for playing him out of position but when Smith is played out of position he gets called shit and not good enough for Newcastle, some people on here have double standards.

Absolutely. Bringing on another player to go left-back so as to push Zog up, too. But it only matters if we do the same thing in the next game (though i'd be tempted to put Faye back in the backline). I'd stick with the same back 4 tbh, we need to have a settled side and stop changing every week. Having Faye in midfield gives us a bit of power and extra protection in front of the back 4, I'd drop butt for Emre and drop Smith for viduka and have the good old 4-4-2. ---------beye-----taylor-----cacapa-----zoggy ---------milner----faye----emre----duff -----------------martins-----viduka something like that

Unless its up front Smith shouldnt play, he offers nothing in midfield. SA needs to pick our strongest 11 and stick with it for a few weeks.

I thought today was a big positive, Milner on the right and Faye as DM was great to see. Beye is gonna be an absolute legend here imo. Hopefully in Jan we'll get a LB, a few creative players and a striker, playing Smith in midfield is a huge waste of time. I'd like to see SA try 4-4-2 against Mancity and really go for it, it would of been o so easy for our players not to give a toss and fold like a pack of cards today but credit to them they gave Chelsea at SB a real good go and would of got a point if it wasnt for a blind linesman, SA has been under a lot of shit lately but until the next game he can hold his head up, we need to see more improvement against mancity and really give the crowd something to sing about.
