Mark Viduka signs for Newcastle - 2 years + 1 more optional

I cant believe how fast SA is moving in the transfer market, He has also stated a desire to sign Ben Haim. -
AFTER a whirlwind week in which he has secured the signature of both Joey Barton and Mark Viduka, Sam Allardyce last night confirmed that he was looking to complete a transfer treble by persuading Tal Ben Haim to join Newcastle. Barton agreed to make a £5.5m move from Manchester City late on Tuesday night when he penned a five-year deal at St James' Park. Viduka has also agreed to join the Magpies "in principle", and the Australian striker is expected to fly into England early next week to complete a medical and rubber-stamp his free transfer from Middlesbrough. advertisement But Allardyce's signing spree will not end there, and the Newcastle manager will spend the rest of the week attempting to lure Ben Haim from his former home at Bolton's Reebok Stadium. The Israeli centre-half, out of contract at the end of the month, is currently mulling over offers from a number of clubs. Bolton boss Sammy Lee has offered to extend his stay in Lancashire, while Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho attempted to sign the 25-year-old in January, only for his club's board to be put off by Wanderers' £3m fee. No fee will be payable this summer, and Allardyce is hoping that his previously successful relationship with Ben Haim will persuade the defender to rejoin him. "I've had a very successful first week at my desk," said Allardyce, who has also sanctioned Scott Parker's £7m sale to West Ham, a transfer that was finally completed when the former Magpies skipper signed a five-year deal at Upton Park yesterday. http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/newcastle/latest/display.var.1452829.0.sam_in_line_for_hattrick.php

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v146/deadreflection/stolen%20smilie%20folder/drool.gif Where? It wasnt much but it was in the journal. Newcastle used Nolberto Solano as an emergency right-back last term, but Allardyce is unlikely to continue with that ploy, while he is also looking for buyers for Stephen Carr.

To top it off it was reported earlier that SA is tryin to get rid of Carr

Going over old ground but if Sam can get him fighting fit & hungry he'll be a handful & could form a fantastic pairing with Owen/ Martins - if I were Owen I'd be well pleased; Viduka has fantastic vision. Attacking 3 of Martins,Owen and Viduka would be good. -

SAM Allardyce is ready to step up his pursuit of Nicolas Anelka after Bolton chairman Phil Gartside revealed that Manchester United have no intention of signing the in-demand Frenchman. Allardyce is preparing an £8m offer for the 28-year-old after forging a profitable relationship with him at the Reebok Stadium last season. And while Anelka recently claimed that he would only be interested in leaving Bolton to join a "top-four club", confirmation that Manchester United will not be bidding for his services has strengthened Newcastle's chances of signing him. advertisement Anelka, who almost joined the Magpies under former manager Graeme Souness in 2005, made an £8m move from Fenerbahce to Bolton last summer. He arrived in Lancashire with a reputation for surliness following previous spells at Arsenal, Real Madrid, Paris St Germain and Manchester City, but Allardyce quickly got the best out of him as he scored 12 goals in 38 games for the Trotters. That form has persuaded his former manager to attempt to sign him again this summer. With the future of both Michael Owen and Obafemi Martins still up in the air, Allardyce is keen to bolster his attacking resources as quickly as possible, and Anelka's arrival would enable the Magpies boss to listen to offers for one of his other centre-forwards. His chances of signing the France international appeared slight last week, when Manchester United were heavily linked with a bid of their own. But with Gartside insisting that United chief executive David Gill has categorically ruled out a move for Anelka, the path would appear to be clear for the Magpies. "David Gill has confirmed to me that Manchester United have no interest in Nicolas Anelka," confirmed the Trotters chief, who remains a close personal friend of Allardyce. Sammy Lee will resist any attempt to prise Anelka from the Reebok Stadium but, despite the striker still having three years of his current deal to run, the Bolton boss will struggle to hold onto his prize asset if he publicly seeks a switch. Allardyce is hoping to play Anelka in the same team as Joey Barton next season, and the latter is expected to arrive on Tyneside for a medical within the next 24 hours. Newcastle remain favourites to pip West Ham for the England international's signature, although discussions over a proposed financial package for the deal have proved more problematic than expected. The Magpies originally offered half of the £5.5m required to trigger Barton's release clause up front, with the remainder of the balance to be paid later this month. Manchester City officials are holding out for the full amount up front though and, with Newcastle's financial situation complicated by billionaire businessman Mike Ashley's current takeover bid, their demands have proved difficult to meet. West Ham have signalled their interest in the 26-year-old but, crucially, Barton has set his heart on a move to St James' Park. That will be enough to clinch the deal, and things should become easier once Scott Parker completes his £7m move to West Ham. The Magpies skipper was in London yesterday undergoing a medical and discussing personal terms. Provided Parker's transfer goes through as expected later today, Barton's arrival will be confirmed later this week. Newcastle's pursuit of David Rozehnal is also nearing fruition with their leading rivals, Borussia Dortmund, having dropped out of a bidding war for the Czech centre-half. Dortmund's offer of £2.3m has been rejected by Rozehnal's current employers, Paris St Germain, and the Bundesliga outfit have refused to go any higher. Allardyce is ready to go much closer to Paris St Germain's valuation of around £3.3m, a move that would enable him to begin contract discussions with the 26-year-old's representatives. Meanwhile, former Newcastle defender Titus Bramble and striker Antoine Sibierski have both joined Wigan Athletic on free transfers. Bramble, 25, who was released from St James' Park at the end of last season, has signed a three-year deal at the JJB Stadium to become Chris Hutchings' first signing as Wigan boss. Sibierski last night teamed up again with Bramble by signing a two-year deal. Allardyce's backroom re-organisation has begun in earnest with Newcastle advertising for sports therapists, sports masseurs, a chiropractor and a nutritionist on their official club website. http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/latest/display.var.1446828.0.allardyce_ready_to_table_8m_bid_for_wanderer_anelka.php -

Scott Parker signs for West Ham - £6.5m (+£500k) fee confirmed
Dragon55544 replied to Dokko's topic in Football
Scott Parker has attempted to get out of a £7m move to West Ham United as he is reluctant to leave Newcastle United despite an increasingly difficult relationship with some of the club's fans. But United's captain feels he is being pushed towards the exit door as new manager Sam Allardyce is desperate to sign controversial midfielder Joey Barton to replace him. The Journal understands Parker has told Allardyce he wants to stay on Tyneside as club captain and prove his critics wrong next season. But that plea, while respected by Allardyce, has not persuaded Newcastle's manager that West Ham's offer should be turned down and the 26-year-old is expected to complete a move back to London this week. "Scott wants to stay at Newcastle but he doesn't feel as though the club want to keep him," said a source close to the player. "He had a few problems with some sections of the club's supporters recently but he was keen to come back and prove them wrong next season rather than leave. "He was not the only player frustrated by what happened last season and he wanted to put things right. He was the club captain and it hurt him to receive abuse from his own fans. However, Scott is not a quitter and he was excited by Sam Allardyce's arrival and what it meant for the team. But he feels the club are making it difficult for him to stay because they already have a replacement lined up." That replacement is Barton, who should be a United player by the end of this week after informing his agent Willie McKay that St James's Park is his preferred destination when he leaves Manchester City. Barton is one of the most controversial players in the Premiership following a series of misdemeanours on and off the pitch, but he is also one of the most effective central midfielders in the country. Allardyce is confident he can tame his wild side. Parker's sale for £500,000 more than the club paid for him two years ago will generally be welcomed by most supporters as a shrewd piece of business by Allardyce, although there will also be sadness from others at the former Chelsea player's departure. Parker enjoyed a magnificent first season in the North-East under the manager who signed him, Graeme Souness, and his successor Glenn Roeder. But having been named as Alan Shearer's successor as skipper at the start of last season, Parker's form dipped in an injury-disrupted campaign, while the return to favour of Nicky Butt also caused some to question his right to an automatic place in the side. That led to some unwarranted criticism of the England international which he, by his own admission, struggled to accept as he exchanged angry words with fans on more than one occasion last term. The former Charlton prospect, though, was adamant he would not let the boo boys force him out of the club. Nevertheless, with Newcastle receptive to West Ham's sizeable offer, it looks as though he has played his last game for the club. Meanwhile, Newcastle's new owner-in-waiting Mike Ashley has reportedly contacted former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein to ask whether he would be interested in running Newcastle United if he succeeds in his takeover bid. Dein was booted off the Arsenal board this year following a disagreement with his fellow directors and is a close friend of Ashley, who would like to see him become Newcastle's new chief executive. The Magpies have also been linked with a move for two defenders playing in France, Lyon's 31-year-old Brazilian centre-back Claudio Cacapa and Auxerre's 29-year-old left back Jean-Sebastien Jaures. * BARCELONA are ready to make another approach for Arsenal striker Thierry Henry if the Frenchman indicates his desire to leave England. The 29-year-old committed his future to the Gunners last summer amid interest from Barca but the Catalan club's sporting director Txiki Beguiristain revealed they are waiting for Henry to show his hand. "If he has the desire to play here, then we can see if it's going to happen or not," Beguiristain said. "Barcelona remains the same. It is the perfect place for players who want to come here. I always say the same thing - it's down to the players to decide." http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/journalsport/tm_headline=parker-not-so-keen-to-leave%26method=full%26objectid=19242803%26siteid=50081-name_page.html -
I thought Dein has shares in Arsenal so wouldnt that rule him out?
