  1. Why the hell would he go and scout them 7 games in advance? What's the fucking point in that?
  2. Gah. Was always going to be hard to win against a good side, but if Shearer's ideas involve hoofing it to two midgets then good luck, especially against Stoke next week. Granted Chelsea make it difficult to play from the back but it was just atrocious at times. First half we did ok, didn't really have an effort though. Closest being Martins failing to swing his leg at a low cross and in abou the 2nd minute Jonas decided to try and kick a loose ball from a corner that Cech spilled instead of going with his head. Second half we never got going, not helped by Duff being turbo shit and Coloccini being even worse. When he was pissing about for the first goal there was a sense of inevitability when he failed to clear it, and I've no idea what Ryan Taylor was doing on the line but it wasn't helpful. And Lampard nearly missed. Second goal was just too simple. After that it was the usual plodding around until full time, except for Owen's "goal." Harper had to make a lot of saves aswell. Chelsea's fans are sickening, they said fuck all until they went in front then once they got the goals it was as if they'd won the league. Oh and they're going to Wembley. They sang the same song about 10 times in half an hour. Harper - Some good saves, atrocious kicking. I'd hate to see him play Golf with all that slicing. Ryan Taylor - Very very average. One good set piece. Numerous bad Enrique - Defended pretty well, bit below his recent high standards Colo - Shite, really piss poor. Beye - Did okay out of position, look forward to him being back at right back. Butt - Meh. Lots of endeavour but a yard too slow to everything. Nolan - The same but hes 5 years younger. Oh dear. Jonas - Decent enough, had nothing to work with. Lovenkrands - Ran about a lot, hope he's okay Owen - Plenty of tracking back and some nice touches in and around the box, will struggle when we hoo the ball Martins - When Owen drops deep stay I wish he'd play through the middle, really shouldn't be having to contest long ball after long ball against Alex and Terry Subs: Duff - Turboshit. Guthrie - I like this kid because he can pass a football and he gets more talented players on the ball. Carroll - Too late to make any impact, tried anyway.
  3. Can only assume Dowie is friends with Rio from their West Ham days, no idea why he was there today though seemingly taking notes.
  4. I believe so, as is Scholes Vidic is a no go though, as the first two, gained two yellows, Vidic was a straight red. Scholes go a straight red for handball on the line. I believe Vidic is back aswell as it's only a one match ban for denying a goalscoring opportunity, but he got a 2 match ban for it being his second red of the season. I've been speaking to PM too much...
  5. Maybe something to do with Shearer's testimonail being against Celtic and not them?
  6. This is my fear, 10 minutes of screaming Shearer followed by 80 minutes of Chelsea possession. Let's hope not.
  7. Shearer hasn't even got all his badges so he can't exactly say "I'll be here forever" because well, he can't be without the badges. Southgate and Roeder got away with it because of circumstances (England nicked McClaren, Roeder was seriously ill)
  8. My worry is Kinnear said he has the contract in his drawer ready to sign when he wants. I'd get that offer withdrawn Mike!
  9. They were, but Shearer will have known him from the Southampton days first and foremost. Obviously Dowie spoke a lot of sense in Shearer's eyes.
  10. I imagine they've spoke before, yes. Dowie's been working for Sky Sports since he got sacked from QPR so we best get Townsend and McManaman in then we've got somebody from ITV and Setanta too.
  11. Shearer: Hey Rob...you know how I class you as my best friend. Rob: Yep... Shearer: And well, I need an assistant Rob: YEP!? Shearer: Pass me the phone please
  12. Is this the most unprofessional live text ever? http://www.setanta.com/uk/Articles/Football/2009/03/28/Saturday-football-LIVE/gnid-46207/
  13. I wish the Ukraine match was Saturday and the pointless friendly was on Wednesday night. Saturday is made for competitive football
  14. I just love all the positiv talk in here these days! Some people are just never satisfied
  15. Is Shearer the landlord of Shearer's?

    A must win game

We must at least match Stoke's result against WBA in our game against Chelsea. Then beat Stoke. And that's to put us in with a chance.
  17. Game was lost when we went in at half time 0-0. What an awful penalty. For fuck sake, he possesses so much power in his feet and he does that. Took his goal well enough but a false dawn, and obviously failing to sort out the defence when Taylor was being strapped up did us no favours. I expect a very similiar game in 2 weeks but with an even more annoying opposition. Even fucking Bendtner scored.
  18. The most annoying thing is that teams have stopped Jonas by doubling up on him. Arshavin isn't likely to do that particularly and yet we've just not thought about it. Sickening.
  19. With Hughton it's like he's playing a massive game of Buckaroo. He removes the pieces he's supposed to in Smith, Geremi and then he removes Owen and it's like...fair play Chris, you've removed the big piece. You're finally getting good at this. And then he takes Jonas out...
  20. Newcastle: Harper, Steven Taylor, Coloccini, Bassong, Jose Enrique, Ryan Taylor, Butt, Nolan, Duff, Lovenkrands, Martins. Subs: Krul, Owen, Smith, Gutierrez, Geremi, Beye, Ameobi. Arsenal: Almunia, Sagna, Gallas, Toure, Clichy, Arshavin, Denilson, Diaby, Nasri, Van Persie, Bendtner. Subs: Fabianski, Eduardo, Vela, Song Billong, Djourou, Eboue, Gibbs.
  21. Boro lost and Blackburn held at home. I think I'd have preferred Boro and Stoke to draw but whatever. Portsmouth result is the real kick in the tits. A win for us and all of that will be forgotten. Fucking hell, we need 3 points.
