About extra games: there's no reason why some of our players can't play 40+ games a season. We played 50+ last year and were fine. The quality is different, sure, but we also have a bigger squad. I think we have a lot of youngsters who would benefit from getting first team games at a higher level than L1 or the Championship.

I think the people criticising Swansea and saying they'll be found out and relegated next season aren't giving enough credit to us. It was our defending - as a unit - that made them look so ineffective. Most teams in the league can't defend like that so that's why they lose goals, and then when Swansea take the lead, you can see how their style is suffocating. They're a good team who lacked a bit of edge up front but we defended very well which was why we won and looked comfortable. Theyre still far better than many teams in the league and hopefully will be here for the long run.

He could definitely go on till Gigg's age. His game relies even less on physicality. I agree to an extent. When Man Utd are playing a shit team then he can sit there and chill, but when they play a better team like City where he has to defend as well, then he looks past it like he's done for the past couple of years. The quality of the league isn't good now. Scholes looked worse three years ago.

This referee is a joke.

How is that not a yellow?

Dive and offside. Ridiculous.

Martin the Magician, of course it was If it wasn't a joke then it's a pretty direct contrast to the rest of his posts.

You don't say.

It was a discussion about both clubs having employed players who have done stupid shit, which he was right to point out that all clubs have. This was a minor, minor point of incorrect detail which doesn't affect the point that he was making.
-
It was clearly tongue-in-cheek.
-
You gonna ban some of the trolls in this thread then?
-
That's worse than anything Pax said tbh. #justiceforpaxton

He's made some good points regarding O'Neill, regarding minority idiot fans tainting shit and made some good points about their shit players on high wages. His Cattermole love is a bit embarrassing but who really cares, to be honest? He certainly didn't come on here to wind people up and I'm quite impressed with how patient he was with loads of people baiting him.

Keep on going and you're next. If you can't have a reasonable discussion with a level-headed Sunderland fan then it says a lot about you. He may have rose-tinted specs on regarding some of his players but which group of fans don't, at least ever so slightly?
-
Serious? The stuff was in the papers. If you can't discuss stuff that's already in public then what can you discuss?
-
Paxton's been banned? What did he do wrong? He talked a lot of sense imo and it was embarrassing how many people tried to get a rise off of him.

Where did the 'Go' button to select part of the forum to go to disappear to? The one that's usually at the end of a page.

M'Bengue, M Davies, Douglas, Amalfitano and Barnetta... Summer done in under 5m.
-
Moses doesn't have a brain. He's a better version of Obertan but we'd be complaining about his lack of football sense after 5 matches. We need smarter players, like a fit version of Marveaux.
-
Davies and Lee from Bolton. Hoilett from Blackburn. Diame from Wigan. These are players that can help us push on ie. they're better than some of our starters. The rest, like Faurlin and Dann and Rodallega, are crap and would be bench players. I'd rather sit our promising kids like Vukcic and Sammy on the bench.

Friday games are great when you win. If you lose, though, the whole weekend is ruined. I'm nervous.
