  1. A City goal would make this match more fun.
  2. No chance that is even a foul; perfect tackle.
  3. Good for football. He's a class player, even if he's past it. It'll give Ferguson some more time to find a replacement for him - maybe someone like Cleverley will step up when he's fit again.
  4. Hoping to be back in February or March according to the latest Chronicle.
  5. The fact that his knees are fucked means that no club will pay the requisite amount for us to sell - something north of £30m - which means that we won't sell him because he's far too valuable to us. The only risk is that his contract is up in 2 and a half years but honestly, who gives a fuck about that now? We'll be top 4 by that time anyway, so he won't need to move.
  6. Does Cajun have any more spunk leftover for his girlfriend?
  7. Anyone see Pardew's press conference? 'We have to keep it tight, keep ourselves in the game' Yeah, no Ben Arfa then.

  9. He'd get in every team in the Premiership right now, bar none.
  10. I'd sell Ba in a heartbeat if it meant that Coloccini was guaranteed to stay.
  11. aye he said he only saw it on the telly. twente chairman said we never made contact, Jol said we weren't involved. was never any actual bid tbh. makes you wonder what David Craig was on about. think the club was just having a laugh at the fans really. Ruiz and Ben Arfa either side of Ba is the kind of thing we should be looking at though. Cabaye and Tiote with another, probably more attacking, midfielder behind them. Yup. The model is Arsenal; have a mobile, good frontman then surround him with quick, technical players in the two winger positions and have a three man midfield where you have a QB, a DM and an attacking midfielder combining. We're really only one or two players away from being able to play with that formation. Ba, Ben Arfa, Cabaye and Tiote are 4/6 of the way there. whats a QB? Quarterback. Players like Cabaye, Arteta, Meireles, Scholes are the type of players that excel with a bit of time on the ball, which they'll get with two other guys in the center helping out.
  12. (to Tooj) Yup. It'll be interesting to see how he fares playing in Gervinho's position. I know Wenger has stated that he'll get a lot more games when Gervinho is off at the ANC. Koscielny looks very good this year, and Mertesacker has shown clear signs of improving. They've just suffered too many injuries in defence. I mean, having Sagna being out for so long was a blow but then to have his backup - Jenkinson, who I reckon will be an England international in a year or two - get injured for a while was another blow. The story at LB is hilarious. I think Coquelin is the 8th player to play at LB for them this season. Ridiculous.

  14. Arsenal still have Diaby coming back as well. They actually have a strong squad when everyone's fit, but they seem to suffer from an inordinate amount of injuries. They could easily line up with Ramsey, Wilshere and Song as the their first choice midfield then have Arteta, Diaby and Coquelin as a very good backup midfield. I think they'll finish third. Their confidence is back. They look leaky at the back but they look very good going forward now. Gervinho is an excellent player who gives them that edge; he creates a lot of space for van Persie and Ramsey in and around the box.
  15. Chelsea's and Tottenham's futures both hinge on getting a new 60k+ stadium. Abramovich will leave at some point but if they're financially sustainable by that time then they'll be a force for a long time. Spurs need to capitalise on their talent by cementing a place in the top 4 and generating enough revenue to be able to pay obscene wages, which means that they need a new stadium, otherwise this boom in talent that they currently are enjoying will be short-lived.
  16. Is it just me that thought that they looked toothless? The game has played pretty much into our hands. We haven't attacked much, kept the midfield really tight and thus haven't given them many chances. We can now wait for them to become impatient in the second half and start to open it up. Vuckic just needs too much time on the ball. He's not there yet. Ben Arfa needs to come on, and Santon too.
  17. This is my derby, man. There isn't a Mackem in sight where I live, but god damn are there plentiful of loudmouth Liverpool-supporting cunts. They've always crushed us and so I've not had much to say, but this year, for the first time in a good 8 or so years, we're level with them in the table and we look capable of matching them on the pitch. I'm buzzing.
  18. Plenty of pace from Bellamy, Downing and Rodriguez against a high line. Not sure it's the way to go. Huge difference between said 3 players and N'gog/Klasnic Maxi is not pacy at all, and Downing will be playing on the wing, which Santon can cover. The only one is Bellamy, and even he's been playing as more of a winger than a striker this year.
