  1. 30 games played, 6 games won. Wow. The stat says it all. I'm up from a 5 to a 7. We still have a chance because of those three home games but there's a real possibility that even 37 or 38 points won't be enough.
  2. We've only won 6 games? Jesus, that's shocking.
  3. Or last year when Barca happily sprayed passes around Man Utd but only lacked the finishing touch? Please, on their day, Barca are the best that football have to offer. Man Utd won it last year with a magnificent goal but they relied heavily on counter-attacking because they couldn't keep up with Barca's passing. If they had pressed further up, especially at the Nou Camp, they would have been beaten easily; Ferguson knew it as well which was why they played their most defensive game in a long, long time. If any English team decide that they're going to press further up the pitch and harry Barca's midfielders, they're going to get ripped to bits. I hope it happens.
  4. I want whatever you're smoking. Have you seen the table? They're not out of the title race man, seriously. Wake up. Effectively 7 points behind. I think Man Utd will drop a few more points but not enough for Chelsea to catch up since Chelsea also still have some tough fixtures coming up. They're done. I think they'll prioritise the CL and the FA Cup anyway. 3 days after our match, they're off to Anfield. There's a chance that they (especially Hiddink) will be thinking and planning for that so that's why I think we have a chance.
  5. Gerrard having the season of his life?
  6. Chelsea have nothing to play for. They're not going to win the title, they're not going to fall out of the top 4; they have other worries in the form of the CL and the FA Cup so I think we have a chance against them. 2-1 to us is my super-duper optimistic prediction.
  7. Not the best forum to post what you just did, quklaani
  8. Umm, he took one left-footed penalty against Everton, and missed it.
  9. Seemed as if we really slowed down when he came on. Isn't that fucking typical? What a fucking cunt.
  10. So close to tears (although this may be due to the beers I've had tionight)

How are his set pieces good? Seriously. How are they good? He got one assist against WB but has been fucking shite ever since. He's slow, he can't make short passes, can't make long passes, can't move into space, can't make incisive passes, can't mark his opponent, can't put in a decent corner nor set-piece. What the fuck? He's got the same consistency with set-pieces as Milner, Geremi and fucking Emre does. Just a useless player except for 2 matches a season when he plays against us and scores some flukey fucking free-kick. He's fucking shit.
  12. Fucking useless. Be fucking men, for fuck's sake. That was fucking pathetic. Useless shite all round. Ashley, fuck off, you dumb fucking dick.

Shite player. This is what you get for buying a utility player from Wigan fucking Athletic. Fuck off Kinnear, Ashley, Llambias.. whoever is in charge of this shit.. Just fuck off, you cunts.
  14. Do you not think he already has adapted? He seems to still have the ability to pop up in the right spots, although he can't score the 20 yard run and shots anymore. Problem is we don't see it very much because he plays so little. Up front he hasn't adapted his game. Still someone who poses the threat of scoring goals, but on average delivers absolutely nothing to the team and will miss the odd chance that drops to his feet. Pretty much the type of striker who could get a team relegated, not through any direct fault of his own, but because a team that isn't equipped to supply him is a team that is playing with 10 men every time he fails to score. Even Ameobi, one of the worst strikers in the league, is quite possibly a better option in the team next to Martins if Owen doesn't suddenly start tucking them away. His spell in midfield is where he did adapt his game. Keegan knew what he was doing when he effectively removed Owen from the frontline - given his lack of clear pace, Owen was far more dangerous running into the box off the ball unmarked. Unfortunately, for obvious reasons, we weren't ever going to see him play in that role this season. Excellent post. Ironic that the final insult of this whole Michael Owen saga is that he will probably help cost us premiership survival by being a must start even though he is so ineffective in this team. It's the sad truth. Looks like you'll get a sneak peak of an Owen-less Newcastle in a 4-5-1 today...happy days eh. Well why play Owen when he has no interest in keeping us up? He's only interested in getting back in the England team, and as long as Capello is Manager he'll be out of the England team, Capello obviously disliked him at Real M and obviously dislikes him now. He must be really down at the moment, the only thing he has to look forward to is playing for Man City, but at least he'll be getting his 100k a week, and he'll be nearer to his home. Let's stick with the players who want to play for us, not the one who can't wait to get out of the door. And he shouldn't be captain either. What's changed in the last 12 months? We'd have been f*cked if Keegan had that mentality. What's changed is that Owen is shirking the 50-50 challenges because he knows that if he gets injured, his last chance at moving to a big-ish club will be gone. He's doing the simple things but it's obvious that he knows he'll be out of a contract in a couple of months so it's obviously smarter if he just waits it out instead of risking things.
  15. nothing under-rated about him, everyone knows he is class. Individually I agree; people know that he's a great defender but as a leader, I think he's been very underrated this season. People have pinpointed our problems being center midfield and up front but they've also neglected to mention that not having Beye has meant that the assuredness and calmness has been lacking from our defence.
  16. Most underrated player at the club. With him back, we can go back to the defence which kept 4 clean sheets in 7 games and has a proper leader to organise things.
  17. Tell that to ITV, Fernando. Apparently they think that the Spanish press have been criticising you.
  18. It's just the dynamics of European football changing. It happens. In a few years' time, some other league will be 'dominant'. Do you remember in 2004 or 2005 when Italy had 3 teams in the semis? But, I'm sure Milan and Inter fans were not saying 'ah, the European cup is boring, where are all the good foreign teams?'. In time, a different status quo will emerge. Right now, the English teams are on top but I'm not sure that it'll last as long as most people believe it will (i.e. a decade of dominance).
  19. A faceless, sinister entity intent on taking over the world.
  20. When I went to Korea/Japan 2002, you could buy tickets for specific cities. So we (family) bought 4 tickets for every match that was played in one city. Ended up seeing 3 matches in that city and travelled to Seoul for an extra match. The feeling in the country during the WC was amazing.
  21. Yes but maybe with the exception of Barca, Milan and Bayern an english club will either win or come runners up in the champs league for the next 10 or so years. Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal (you cud add Man City in a few years!) are now the super powers of european football which dosn't bode well for the other clubs in the prem!! That's just a retarded thing to say. You can't predict what will happen in the next 10 years. 10 years ago, the last time an English club won the European cup was wayyy back. There's this nice little timeline of which nation has the most coefficients accumulated by their clubs from European football. England's on top now and rightly so but things can and do change pretty quickly. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_coefficients .. go down to 'History' and it should be there.
