  1. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=624870&sec=europe&cc=5739 This is why he is universally liked. Unlike that douche, Ronaldo.
  2. The defence was very good today considering Everton just launched long ball after long ball into our box. We cleared most of their crosses, took care of the second balls and never gave them a gilt-edged chance despite barely attacking throughout the match.
  3. Who hasn't Enrique had in his pocket this season? Defensively, he's been fucking amazing. The only part of his game that needs working on is passing, and if he's encouraged to bomb forward more often and overlap Jonas, then I think he could develop into one of the best players in our team. He's strong, he's quick, he's got stamina and doesn't seem to have lapses in concentration. He's defensively better than any LB I've seen at the club. Today, he didn't have much to do in terms of attack so that's why maybe there's a perception that he had a good game. If he had misplaced a few passes when we were dominant in possession then this perception would change, but he had a good game because he was asked to do what he's very, very good at [defend], and he did it. JFK's style may be a bit weird but his criticisms of Enrique seem to have actually encouraged Enrique. Some of the improvement that we've seen lately must go to Kinnear.
  4. We've got Fulham, Boro and Portsmouth to play at home. We'll survive.
  5. Yeah, any striker with a brain would be moving towards goal, either at the near or far post. Where was Shola? He was holding onto Joseph Yobo. Why? Who the fuck knows!
  6. Their whole midfield is fucked; Arteta, Cahill, Pienaar, Fellaini and Osman. Unlucky
  7. They've got 2 kids playing midfield and no proper right back. We can take 'em.
  8. Lineups? They've still got a few players out, have played recently so I understand Hughton's decision to leave our impact players on the bench. Our starting eleven is good enough to give them a fight. I only hope that, if required, changes are made quickly (and not retardedly late like after 80 minutes).
  9. Exactly why it's banned on here. They never hosted any streams on that site, just provided links to them, yet they're still getting in the s***. That's something we can do without. I would just like to add that this particular site won its lawsuit and is back up and running. Step forward. It was always up and running, by the way. You just had to check the forum bit to find the links.
  10. Are you sure it's a completely legal site? Edit: Oh right I've just realised what you're meaning. If you're paying then you're totally skanking yourself. Not really. It's easy, and has better quality then any free illegal stream site I've ever used. I know a mate of mine who does this as well and he highly recommends it. Higher quality, none of this streams getting cut in the middle of the match, English commentary and matches that aren't normally shown live in the UK/US are still available.
  11. It's not as if Cattermole does this on purpose, though, does he? I don't think he walks onto the pitch with the intent of injuring another player. He goes in hard in 50-50 tackles and unluckily for a few other players, they've been injured, which sometimes happens. I haven't seen the tackle so I'm assuming that it's actually a 50-50 and Cattermole didn't go in with two studs up or go in late, which if it was the case would change my opinion.
  12. This should be the standard contract for every footballer, in my opinion. Most football clubs guarantee too much money for players and most clubs suffer when players underperform (but when they do, their compensation is never reduced). They can live on a guaranteed 20k/week with incentives that reach up to 80k/week. If you and the team plays well, you earn more money. If you don't, you don't. Simple.
  13. I've heard their critics say that they've scored a shitload amount of goals late on, fluking their way to wins. This is just one amongst many unfair criticisms; scoring late goals is a skill. It requires concentration, determination, stamina, perseverence etc. If they don't score a lucky goal i.e. one that's been deflected 3 times on the way in, then that's luck. But scoring a legitimate (read: not lucky) goal late on requires as much skill as scoring a legitimate goal at any other time so this is a shit and unfair criticism of Villa.
  14. Where's the hyperbole, though? I've heard people saying that they're playing some good football, which I agree with. I've heard people say that they create plenty of chances in a game; something I also agree with. And I've heard people say that they're winning games so they've got a great chance of breaking the top 4; something I also agree with. That's pretty much it. I haven't read or heard anyone say that they're passing teams off the park or playing football that would make Wenger and Fergie drool. Their style of football is different. They play it quick but don't have the incisiveness of Man Utd or Arsenal. But even though they don't make twenty delicious, sumptuous passes before taking a shot, they create a fuckload of decent to good chances per game and with a few decent strikers, they've been able to finish a number of those chances. They play to their strengths; they send balls into channels for Agbonlahor to run after because he's quicker than most players on the pitch; they stretch the game side to side so that their better players like Ashley Young have space to create chances. Each facet of their style complements another, which is why they're a good team. And if a team's able to consistently score one or two every game, they're going to win or draw most of their matches - something which Villa have done.
  15. How many times has Ronaldo and Rooney kicked out at other players this season and not been sent off? Rooney, iirc, did it twice against Stoke away and Ronaldo was also in on the action that day, but that's just one example of the many, many times that they've escaped punishment. I love how Hansen's taking the piss out of Allardyce for that body language comment classic
