How would the banner make any difference? That's what I don't understand. It's not like a billionaire will sell his asset because of a banner, is it? And it's not like the rest of the world doesn't know that most of us, the fans, aren't pleased with the way things have gone over the past couple of weeks, is it? I would understand protesting before or after the game, but during the game, maybe supporting the players would be best.

I agree, and I apologise. What a shit couple of weeks this has been for anyone who genuinely cares about the club, regardless of their feelings about Ashley, KK and the whole saga.

Terry off. Not sure it should have been, but he's off.

Nail .... on ... the ... head ok, I'll agree to disagree, but the majority of people at the match today agreed with the message that banner sent out, but seriously if you think that was all that cost us the game then you guys are living in a dream world. the past few weeks of turmoil are what cost us, as well as an inept display by most of the players out there (you could argue that also was justifiable) I doubt anyone thinks the banner cost us the match, but it certainly didn't help. The team who were already playing poorly, but were only 1-0 down due to a poor refereeing decision clearly needed all the support the fans could give them if we were going to get anything out of this game, they didn't get it. Whilst the banner was being paraded around the ground the crowd was distracted and so were the team, Hull totally dominated us whilst it was going on and scored their second goal, once the whole thing had died down we started to play much better football scored and came close on a couple of occasions. So for me, what was going on in the stands during that period of the game clearly had some influence on what happened on the pitch. Was it THE reason we lost? No, but it was one of many, and one that shouldn't have happened. The reason I say it shouldn't have happened is because it was a pointless gesture and had much more to do with the egos of the blokes carrying it around than anything else. What were they hoping to achieve other than getting themselves on the tv? Is there anyone in the entire country who is not aware that the majority of NUFC fans are unhappy with what's happened and blame the board for that? No. Are the board unaware that the majority of fans blame them for what's happened? No. If they'd have paraded the banner around at half time would nobody have seen it and would it not have been shown on tv? No. Is it in the interests of NUFC for the players to be distracted at the start of the second half of a game against a team we should really be beating, but aren't because the team is already playing poorly? No. Were the banner carriers lapping up all the attention they were getting and enjoying being the centre of attention? Yes, probably. Were they thinking about whether they were acting in the interests of the club? No, probably not. Is that sad? Yes, very. When are people going to stop acting in their own interests and start acting in the interests of the club? There's way too many people looking to stroke their own egos at the moment to the detriment of NUFC. It's a very sad state of affairs. You've said what I've been trying to say, but just much better.

he's from barnham on the edge of london and lived and worked in london for most his adult life. like saying someone from hexham who has lived and worked in newcastle extensively is a geordie - not really a stretch is it? anyway i'd imagine the point is more to do with us being ran from London rather than from up here. More to do with their unconditional love for Keegan, who can apparently do no wrong. rubbish. the people who like keegan know he is flawed. not sure what that's got to do with my post tho I don't think the majority of the fans have that much of a problem with the fact that the may be ran from London, but now they're using that fact against the board because of what's been going on with KK. Some people just need to something/someone to blame (irony overload, I know).

Deco Remember that thread where people voted that they'd rather have Bentley than Deco?

Stinging left-footed strike straight into the corner. Top class from Fat Frank.
-
2-1, Lampard. Awesome finish.
-
Malouda hits the bar from 6 yards out. Easy easy header and he's shit enough to miss it.

That link came from Alan Oliver and a wikipedia entry. I cannot believe that some people believe that shit's actually going to happen.

No. Unless you have enjoyed this experience, which is bound to happen again within a year of his possible return.

Carvalho, 1-1. Smacked that fucker in.

Robinho, 1-0. Sweet free-kick.

Not exactly supporting the team, is it? No but when it was getting passed around it must have lasted about 2 minutes. Were we playing alot better before the incident? Are people just looking for someone/something to blame here? Cant the team just have had a bad day due to what is happening at the club? How many times have we seen a gutless performance at SJP from our boys, most of which are still here and played today? Nah, it lasted a whole 5 minutes and the dudes started walking right just before the second half kicked off. The mongs timed it perfectly, unfortunately. So it, the second half, kicked off without any energy at all from our boys and I'm betting that the banner and the way the whole crowd just stopped watching the football contributed to it.

At least I cared at that point. I was nervous, heart was beating like a mofo and cared. Now? Apathy and indifference are the words of the day. Maybe a bit of anger as well.

Rumours of yet more Keegan & Ashley talks to come...

He's an NUFC legend overall but I'm seriously disillusioned by him. He's walked out on a matter of principle. Even taking into account the fact it might be "serious" this is Keegan and NUFC, all his talk about this being the only job he'd come back and give it proper crack, saying he wants what's best for us... He's left at the worst possible time. He's like a 13 year old girl during that time of the month, to be honest.

At least you knew it'd get better when Souness left. There was hope at the end of the tunnel. We just had to wait a while for Freddy to realise what the whole fanbase did, but he got there in the end. Where do we go from here? No money to throw around, tiny squad, no manager, seemingly indifferent owner and board. What happens now?
-
Even after that 90 minutes of farce, what do we know now that we didn't before the start of the game? - Xisco's a bright young talent. - Butt is shite. - Ameobi is shite. - Owen's good playing in the hole behind the front two. - N'Zogbia can't defend. Nothing new as far as I can see. Just 3 points wasted. Ashley's gotta get someone in quick so we can move on from this sordid affair.
-
Never felt this bad during Souness' reign. Never felt this bad during Roeder's. Same with Allardyce's. I am as apathetic as I have ever been about Newcastle United. Ever. No manager, absent board and owner, majority of fans being absolute idiots/cunts/mongs/retards/whatever-fucking-synonym-you-want, and the players not caring. The ref shows '5' to signal 5 minutes will be added on and the crowd remain silent. Fucking pathetic. But then every cunt was clapping their stupid hands when those 3 retards walked around with that banner ('cockney mob out'). What happened to fucking supporting the fucking team? 4 fucking games into the season and it's effectively over. Fuck off.
