If he goes on loan, we'll never get a fee for him come January since his contract expires at the end of the season, and everyone will know, by then, that he's shite.

I'm thinking we breeze this one. The lads look confident and an early goal will send us on our way. I imagine it'll be a game similar to our matches against Fulham and Reading towards the end of last season. Score early, dominate possession and finish things off in the second half.

Tiago to Everton, Juve go in for Alonso and Liverpool finally gets Barry?

Pocognoli's only 21 years old. Never heard of him, though.

Given Beye Taylor Coloccini Enrique New RM Guthrie Barton Jonas Owen Martins If we can get a new center midfielder, then Barton drops to the bench. If we get a new big-ish striker, then the 4-3-3 will be much more suitable for the personnel that we have. Same back 5. New midfielder Guthrie Jonas (who seems perfect for this role) New striker Owen Martins Owen can do what he did towards the end of last season.

In the grand scheme of things, does it matter? I'd rather have Keegan at the training ground all day anyway and infecting the players with his enthusiasm and indoctrinating them into his version of total football. If he's happy with the transfer set-up (which he's indicated on many many occasions that he is), and Wise and co look for players that KK will be able to work with, then there's no problem at all with the way things are being done.

I'm eating lots of humble pie with this signing. Though, saying that, this is still only one game. I hope he can keep this up.

Just saw the whole match again and now after having watching it as a sort-of observer, the game was much more even that I remembered it. As a fan, you know, everytime they launched the ball up, I had visions of Rooney smacking the ball into the net with Given looking on helplessly, but watching it in a different mood really showed how good the performance was. I'm proud of the lads. Quality start to the season

are you bi-polar? No. That was slightly knee-jerk but also provoked by a mate (Man Utd fan) that I watched the match with. He was on about Owen being the best thing ever to happen to Newcastle and how 'fucking lucky' we are to have him in our team. Apart from that, I also disagree with the average joe's opinion that Michael Owen is the best and most important player in our team. That is why I said 'Michael who?'. However, I do think he's a quality player and I'm excited to see him play in this team. Hope that explains it.

Quite a bold statement, that. -
Was talking about that just earlier today. Missed out on those two but ended up with Bellamy and Robert. Awesome stuff.

How do you create an assist, RM? -
What's our best front 6, as of this moment? Milner Guthrie Barton Jonas Martins Owen Duff was very quiet today, yet we still had a decent game and kept possession well. Imagine if we have Owen to support Martins, we should be able to keep the ball for longer and also have another goal scorer in the team. I would expect that Barton will replace Butt because he offers more on attack. Not sure about Milner, I'd really rather have Zoggy in the team but Jonas looks like he's well suited to that left-wing position, so who knows? Great team performance. I'm excited about this season

The performance was the best thing about this. The point's a bonus, but the way we defended - at Old Trafford, bear in mind - and how some of our attacking players weren't afraid is a real positive. Saw a stat with a minute to go that said that they had 8 shots on goal in the second half to our 7. Not bad. Coloccini also had a nice debut. Looked a bit shakey in the first 10 minutes but then calmed down and really took control and kept Rooney quiet for long periods throughout the game. Good stuff

Great debut. Fucking poised. And all this at Old Trafford!
