GEt JOnas off for christ sake, another game when he's done sod all!!!

Lovenkrands should be on the right, just have Smith & Butt anchoring the midfield, feed the speed of Lov & Jonas and get them attacking them. Smith & Butt could be needed to handle their aeriel threat. Amazed Geremi is playing, for a so called must win game we have hardly picked a team that looks like its going for the kill!!

Going back to the first ever meeting when NUSC was formed, the long term goal for it was some sort of fan representation at boardroom level, it doesn't have to be under the Ashley regime, it may well be an impossible dream, it may happen in 5 years time, 10 years time if new owners come in, i doubt it'll happen under AShley but you never know.

Tonights game finished 1-1, Last minute equaliser for Hull after Donniger scored for us.

What a load of bollocks. how In what way can we not compete with Sunderland? We are having a good season, 2nd in the academy league and 2nd in the reserve league, both us and the mackems got to the quarters in the youth cup and came up against 2 of the best teams in the country, we were beaten 4-2 away at man city, thet were stuffed 4-0 or 4-1 at home to arsenal. There wasn't much between the sides when the reserves won 2-1 away at Sunderland with a very young side. Just as there was nothing between the sides when they beat us first game of the season. The academy are away at Sunderland next week so we'll be able to tell. Are you going to that? It is strange but even though we got beat off Leeds it was one of the better games I have seen the U18 play as wins against Barnsley, Boro & The Scum are down to Nile physically destroying the oppo centre backs rather than the team playing well. I'm not sure if i'll be going yet, i'm out on a all day session with the Gold cup being on and then going into town, depends how rough i am on Saturday morning, its an 11 o'clock ko. U18 away games is going some like I was standing next to some old boys at the U18 game on Saturday & these fellas must watch every level of Newcastle United + stack of non league games as well. They were making notes on the teamsheet of subs & who scored + times during the game. It is just another level that sort of commitment to football. if you were on the halfway line you'd have been next to me, i was standing next to Alan, John and Paul Tully(does the match programme), Alan & John are mental, they're at Hull tonight, been to every reserve game home and away this season and watch loads of the academy games. They'd be a great 2 to put into a quiz team on NUFC as theres not much they don't know about NUFC, Alan also wrote the book on the history of Newcastle Sunderland games. It'll only take me 30 mins to drive to WHitburn and got nowt planned on Saturday as not going to Hull so not that much of a chore, i wouldn't go any further than SUnderland to watch the academy mind!lol

I know exactly how we are doing thanks and have been to a number of Academy games this season including the 4-2 defeat at Man City you talk about, I wanted Jayson to tell me how he thinks we can't compete with them. Did we not actually beat them 3-1 earlier this season at Under 18 level? Sorry greg my post was more for jayson's benefit than yours. i know you've seen quite a number of games.

The under 14's have some really good players, my nephew plays for Cramlington juniors and they played the academy last week in a friendly, NUFC beat Crammy 8-1, the week before the beat Wallsend 9-0. Wallsend and Crammy are at the top of their league and have some decent players but Crammy were battered, the goal they scored was from a lad who trains with the academy twice a week and NUFC wanted to play for them on the night. On the way home my nephew said good job Remi wasn't playing, i asked who remi was and he said Remi Steele, should be playing for under 14's but plays for the under 16's instead, he maybe a player to keep an eye out for, although plenty could happen to him between being 13 and 17-18 when he would make a break through towards reserve/1st team.
-
Agree with that, if we somehow survive this year, under this management structure and club ownership we'll go down next season. Club is a shambles from top to bottom.
-
I think others would have to cover him but he looks like he could make things happen. What did you think of that ref today? Haha, that ref and linesman (on the far side in first half) were camp as christmas, loved the hand signals ref wasn't very good, far too fussy, stopped the game from flowing with stopping the game constantly, giving us a free kick next to the corner flag when Taylor was ushering the ball out for a goal kick was a stange decision, never seen that given before, instead of taking a goal kick our keeper had to go right to the corner flag to take the free kick, i had visions of him duffing the kick and the ball going straight to a leeds player in and him rolling the ball into an empty net. Obviously Vuckic is still young but the way he plays you could see him developing into a "number 10" playing behind the striker, kind of Beardsley role.
-
players are too important these days as they're worth so much. there are too many s*** kickers in reserve football to risk a £100k a week returning star striker getting injured again. Utter rubbish, there are no "s*** kickers" as you say in reserve football there's enough to make managers think twice about risking their multi million pound players. if they werent worried about injuries, why wouldnt managers play the "stars"? Have you been to watch any reserve game recently?? or read what i said about how clubs treat the premie reserve league?
-
We play them every pre season, used to play our reserve games there and although we haven't got any players on loan there the likes of Kris Gate, Craig Baxter and Phil Cave were all in our academy/reserve team 12-18 months ago.

Utter rubbish, there are no "s*** kickers" as you say in reserve football, don't know why but ALL the clubs seem to have decided that the reserve league will be a kind of Under 21 league, very few teams but senior players in for a run out and if an established player does get a game its normally when returning from injury, like Smith recently and Barton earlier. Thats not a NUFC thing its what all the teams do. Regarding todays match, i can't believe we lost 3-0, didn't expect that and now blown our title chances, after starting well we were a well beaten side, Inman & Vuckic started well and were running the game early but bit like the first team were let down by their final ball. First time i've seen the new lad Adjei play but first impresion wasn't good, he was quick but poor overall, Baheng has rarely impressed me and was poor again(i'll give him the benefit of the doubt as he's been out for a year tho), Ranger's poor form continued, did rattle the bar with a header late but think his attitude will be his downfall. I do agree with Spence tho, Vuckic could be the one to watch, looks like he could be a decent player.

i remember me & my mate skiving off school to go to Norwich to see his debut, i told my mam i was stopping the night at his and vice versa and think we went back to his cousin when we got back to Newcastle.
-
The Geordies line up as follows; 1 Jak Alnwick 2 James Tavernier 3 Shane Ferguson 4 Brad Inman 5 James Taylor 6 Paul Dummett 7 Sam Adjei 8 Ryan Donaldson 9 Nile Ranger 10 Haris Vuckic 11 Wesley Ngo Baheng 12 Michael McCrudden 13 Max Johnson 14 Dan Williams 15 Darren Lough 16 Stewart Bath Quality line up, don't know how good Leeds are, normally produce good academy sides but NUFC should be good to bang in a few goals and get another win before the possible title decider away to Sunderland next week. Think i'll pop along tomorrow, fresh air should be good for my hangover!

Ryders piece in parts is just as childish and petty as the NUSC piece to be fair, putting in daft bits like he hasn't seen Teasdale cracking open a can at 6am on Barrets bus on the way to Grimsby!! Lee Ryder would be better off making sure his reports that he's paid to produce are correct, every week i'm reading his stories and always full of mistakes, only this week he was reporting on bahengs comeback from his ankle injury, i thought it was pretty common knowledge that Wesley done his cruciate knee ligament, Ryder should know, he wrote the match report when he got the injury!! -

Got to say as a member of NUSC have extremely disapponted of the actions of a "so called" leader of the organisation. While i could imagine thinks could get heated and passions rise to act in that manner is just plain daft and does nothing whatsoever to enhance the repuatation of the group. The good thing though is that the members of the committee are only on trial and proper elections get made at the end of the season, Michael Teasdale has just lost any chance he had of getting my vote if he goes up for election. -

Heza not sure how you get on that supporters panel but it was set up either last year or in the summer, i think its something all clubs have to have as part of their PL charter, think it was previously a talkin shop and nothing really happened as a result of the meeting, if you look on true faith's website they've got reports from all the meetings as someone who writes for TF is on the panel, i think that it how NUSC got in, they basically new the meeting was on and gatecrashed as they hadn't had any response from the club regarding them having contact with the club, bit drastic and ott but seems to have worked. I've no idea how the panel was selected in the first place as i've never seen it advertised anyway for people to volunteer. -

just seen this on true faith, thought it would be good to put up on here, NUSC has answered some questions that have been brought up on the True faith letters page.... Frequently Asked Questions The people at NUSC have asked us to put this online on account of some of the letters we've been getting at Everybody's Talkin' and we're happy to do so ... 1 WHY DO WE NEED A SUPPORTERS CLUB? For years the fan base at Newcastle United has been the biggest and mostconsistent thing about the club. Yet throughout the 54 seasons (including ths one) since our last domestic honour, those fans have never had a collective voice that the club has listened to. The debacle surrounding the departure of Kevin Keegan last year, the "up for sale/not up for sale" saga with the owner, the total lack of communication from the club (which they are now changing and acknowledging was an "error"), the appointment and role of Dennis Wise have all demonstrated that the fans need a coesive, coherent voice that the club will listen to. Individually we can do nothing. Collectively we can hold the people who have control of the club to account, and give a voice to the clubs supporters. 2 SO DO YOU WANT KEVIN KEEGAN BACK AS MANGER? That has never been our short or long term aim. We do not see it as our role to demand or request the appointment or purchase of managers or players. What we do feel is essential, however, is that the club is run by people who understand the special place Newcastle united has in the city of Newcastle, the region, and the hearts of exiled Geordies all over the world; and who will run Newcastle United with an eye on the long term and not the short term. If the owner an the board of directors have that understanding and aim, they will inevitably make the right appointments. in addition, any manager must be allowed to manage, to buy and sell the players he chooses to bring in or move on, and not have to assemble a team made up of other people's choices. 3 YOU ARE SEEN AS AN "ASHLEY OUT" ORGANISATION. IS THAT WHAT YOU STAND FOR? We will judge Mike Ashley on his actions not his words, but it hasn't been a good season from that point of view. Preferring the judgement of Dennis Wise over that of the manager in transfr dealings must be seen as a mistake; the lack of communication is admitted to be an error, and the image of our owner as man swilling a pint in the crowd at Arsenal is not one which in our view brings credit to the football club. We are now seeing a charm offensive from the football club, with the previously mute Derk Llambias taking part in a scripted session with the local press. Unlike mike Ashley, we do not have the luxury of changing our allegiances. We are Newcastle fans first and last and always. So his willingness to sell then his desire to stay, needs to be carefully considered. Our opinion on Mr. Ashley is still open, he is the owner of the club and if he runs the club in accordance with the principles we set out at answer [2] above he will have our support. But he must act now to make that happen, including making some serious investment available for next season (assuming we are still playing Premier League football). 4 WHAT ABOUT WISE AND LLAMBIAS? We will always seek to hold the people with the day to day running of the club to account. At present they are falling [and have fallen] a long way short of what we would expect from the board of Newcastle united. In particular there appears to be a total lack of understanding of the place the football club has in the region. the new spirit of communication is welcome, but the need for improvement in the way supporters are treated )on an individual and collective basis) by the club and its' heirachy is urgently required. 4 SO DO YOU HAVE A POSITIVE AGENDA AT ALL? Indeed we do and it is in two distinct areas. First the aim of having the collective voice of the fans heard and listened to in the corridoors of power at St James' Park. We are membes of the football Supprters Trust and would ideally seek a collectively owned share in the foootball club in the future, but that is a very long way off. Second, however, we will act for and on behalf of supporters on a number of issues. We have already taken up a number of matters on behalf of fans such as the issue of over-zealous stewarding (particularly towards people standing at games). We believe that a proper dialogue between club and supporters is essential, and that a club which represents a significant number of those supporters has a greater chance of making points which are heard and acted upon than any individual's voice ever could. 5 ARE YOU JUST A BUNCH PERSONAL PUBLICITY SEEKERS? Absolutely not. The Club was formed in the wake of protests after the departure of Kevin Keegan, and the thing that united us then and now is a feeling that "enough is enough" as far as our football club was concerned. Ideally, we would have no need to campaign in the press and media for change at the football club because it would be well run and successful. Until that day, however, we fight for change. 6 WHAT ABOUT THE MONEY? ARE YOU ALL TAKING A CUT OUT OF THIS? No-one connected to NUSC has made a penny out of it, and most of the committee are out of pocket as a result of their activities. (It is either love or daftness) Every penny is dedicated to the cause of bringing together the fans of Newcastle United in its common goal of pushing the club towards success with the views and feelings of the fans taken into consideration. 7 WHY DO YOU HAVE A MEMBERSHIP FEE Any organisation has running costs, and all our income is directed towards this. The football club has, rather bizzarrely, criticised this and suggested we should be free! If the club would offer to fun our activities that would of course be possible.... but until that day we need funds to conotinue. (PS funding us would not muzzle us, another reason why that won;'t happen!!) 8 IF I JOIN NUSC WHAT DO I GET FOR MY MONEY? Members benefits include membership card, keyring, badge and car sticker. Also included are newsletters, future planned social events and we are also trying to add other benefits by negotiating with retailers and service providers to put together a range of possible discounts e.g. 'NUSC members get £5 of their meal at our restaurant if they spend more than £25' This is in its' infancy but we are starting to gather support from businesses who are willing to take part in this. In addition, our accounts will be open to members and any future subcription cost options will be presented to members for consideration prior to implemetation. 9 HOW DO I JOIN? On line, or by filling in an application form tonight! We now have over 1000 members, we are aiming for 5000 by the start of next seaon, by asking everyone who joins to find 5 or more new members (friends, family, schoolmates, workmates, whatever). The greater our number, the greater our voice. -

They all still have a link on the NUSC site.... http://www.newcastle-united-supporters-club.co.uk/ I don't have a clue what their thoughts are on the NUSC. Out of them all I only read .com, and they never backed the NUSC in the strictest sense in the first place iirc. They have reported on NUSC activities from the get go and publicised what events they've planned. The Robson one seemed to embarrass them from what they said after, but they still publicised the rally. "As for the output of the NUSC (and to be frank, their whole approach), it makes no sense to us at all - hence our withdrawal at a very early stage from meetings etc. "I honestly think the whole thing [the NUSC] is dead in the water and people have voted with their feet already." - Biffa of nufc.com, Feb 2009 Binnsy, Brummiemag, cp40, tom_nufc, happy face....can anyone shed some light on this? no fraid not, first i've seen that, all i knew was that biffa helped, along with the mag and true faith with some financial support in helping NUSC get off the ground. I'll ask him when i see him at the next reserve game, As far as i know i don't think Biffa ever signed up to join at the first meeting but think Mark Jensen from the Mag is a member, he was signing people up for it on the night of the first meeting, but like myself is just a card holding member as far as i know, pretty sure he's not on the committee, i think the only person who is on the committee who is involved in the fanzine scene is Colin Whittle who writes in True Faith and sometimes in the Mag. Again without knowing for definate i don't think Mark or Michael Martin from true faith wanted to be on the committee as already have there hands full with the fanzines and felt better to keep them separate from NUSC, i maybe wrong but think that was the story.
