Blackpool away will be class!! Along with that there's some cracking away trips, hope Leeds get promoted, always good at Elland Road, we normally always win!!

Ashley is great because he's restored the clubs financial stability...
binnsy replied to Big Geordie's topic in Football
read that on true faith on Friday, a very good article. -
God i know there lacking in the brain dept down in in Wearyside but jesus why advertise weeks before the game there plans giving time for police and both clubs to make plans to stop it. Plus with their run in they aren't exactly safe for the drop themselves, actually i'd love them too be in the ground to witness our 2nd home win on the spin taking us above them with one game to go!

My mates band are apparently lined up for the Blaydon races at the Boro game, he's not sure whether they're on before the match or half time. The band are the Longsands and the club play their version of the Blaydon races when the team comes out for the 2nd half normally, the club have been planning on releasing it in the club shops for months but still hasn't happened yet!

Aye but Doncaster have a stronger better creative midfield than us!!;-)

We've had a really bad night, we played poor against a very good Liverpool side but that was our 2nd defeat since November, both also coming in the North West against everton and man city, shows that its not just the 1st team that goes to pieces when they hit the M62!!
-
no they've just scored a brilliant free kick to make it 4 then we've went up and Vukcic has scored a consolation. 4-1
-
You wouldn't think Liverpool were bottom of the league the way they've played tonight, Newcastle have put in one of the worst 45 mins i've seen this season, not sure why Tavernier, who has been brilliant all season at right back has been switched to centre half, keep saying it but Danquah and Baheng are not good enough, don't think Donaldson is good enough in centre mid, Donninger & Inman are both better, Xisco is just the biggest waste of space and Vuckic who is a good player has never had a kick! We have a good side normally but its a much much better one when Edgar, Kadar, Lualua and Carroll are in it. Feel sorry for Soderberg, thats now 11 goals he's let in in 3 and half games!!

I thought the crowd was great, especially once that nob f***ed off (eventually). i thought the crowd was shite actually, we needed a bearpit and got a kiddies party at the wacky warehouse....too many people more interested in making bloody paper aeroplanes than getting behind the team. Then when all the singing corner have to do is sing simple songs like UNITED that will get the rest of the crowd joining in they sing that stupid discoland crap. and then too top the night off we boo off our already low on confidence football team!! So much for the ALtogether campaign

So I saw. Taking after Luque, I see. He probably couldn't wait to jump into a nice hot bath. Seriously though, whats the f***ing rush! he was utter gash when he came on, looked like he'd spat his dummy out after not starting and just came on and couldn't give a fuck!

I work with a lad from Holland and he's says that the talk over there is Krul will go to Feyenoord in the summer. He was almost there last summer and Wise pulled the deal at the last minute.

Danquah's goal in tonights reserve game will take some beating!!
-
become?? he's always been a quality keeper. One of the most highly rated young keepers in the world.
-
vuckic coming on, thats a good move, going to be a top player
-
Good game so far, very entertaining 1st half, in all the games i've seen Danquah play never seen him hit a ball like that, what a goal that was, 2 keepers wouldn't have saved it!! NOthing wrong with Ranger's header either, shocking decision, we should be 2-1 up. Krul's had nothing to do so far.

There's not many better sides that NUFC have come up against in the 25 years i've watched them as good as the Man Utd team of the last few seasons. The Monaco side with the young Henry and Trezegeut was a tremendous team as well.

Fulham worries me, they've a decent recent record at SJP, especially bearing in mind they've been rubbish away from home for years!!

We'd lost 5 on the trot and were in a relegation place with 2 games left. The game was heading for a draw when Kelly hit a belter into the Gallowgate goal with time running out. That took us to 49 points and results on the final day meant that we stayed up (regardless of our last result) as 48 points went down. As it happens we won at Leicester which was a game in itself after blowing a lead and then getting the winner almost on the final whistle. We already knew by the time the winner went in that we were safe due to other results. The Pompey game was do or die and we very nearly died. Had we not won that it would have been unlikely that we would have beaten Leicester and we would have gone. Those 5 defeats on the spin followed a 1-0 win against the mackems(kelly scored that one as well), those last 3 games of that season are probably 3 of my top 5 all time games ever, the 4-1 defeat away to Derby was one of the most unbelievable atmospheres i've encountered, think the kick off had already been delayed due to a bomb scare(could've been the following season tho) and inside 2 mins we were down to 10 men and 1 nil down, lost another player and Terry mac sent off the bench, Kelly and Gavin Peacock then produced 2 displays that would put the current team to shame as they ran themselves into the ground as our fans got louder and louder as the match and Derby's goals went in.....a case of well if we're going down, we'll go down in style, although was lairy as well as seats were ripped out and thrown!! Then came the famous Portsmouth home game, defeat would have virtually sealed our relegation to the 3rd division and possible extintion, according to Sir John Hall we would've went under as the Halls/Shepherd and Keegan would've went. What we got was a capacity crowd of just under 26000 and the best atmosphere i've known at SJP, think Barcelona and the ManU 5-0 added together and still probably doesn't do it justice, the pictures of the Gallowgate going nuts when Kelly scores are fantastic. Then off we went still not certain of staying up, luckily results went our way but we won anyway, just! Peacock opened the scoring, they equalised in the 90th minute causing a pitch invasion by 1000's of Leicester fans, think a draw took them up, once the pitch was cleared, they didn't get the fans back in the stands, they stood on the side of the pitch!! But one long punt from Tommy Wright was missed by there centre half and Peacock was thru again and poked the ball past the keeper into the net, still when i watch it i think one of there fans standing on the line is going to run on and kick it clear!! Then it went ballistic, there fans stormed the pitch again, we went crackers, some of our lot invaded the pitch wanting to fight them, odds of 500-1!! Kelly had to dive into our end for his own safety and it was like world war 3 outside the ground!!! Then again it was pretty wild inside Filbert st, we were penned in the corner, get seats, coins and alsorts thrown at us, think a Newcastle fan actually got blinded in one eye after been hit by a missile, as well as been attacked from all sides we also got battered by the Leicester riot police if we tried to get away from the missiles!!!!

Christ its like we've gone back in a time warp and its 1992 all over again, lets hope we'll have a new David Kelly after the game!! my team would be harper beye colocini bassong enrique barton smith jonas martins viduka owen I know people have slated colo recently but our defence has been at its best with those 4 in it, Smith will do Butt's job better than Butt for the simple fact he can pass the ball 10 yards! Hopefully Barton will be back to give us some drive/creativity from the middle of the park, Jonas can hopefully produce something for once and the front 3 will fire for once......not too much to ask surely??
-
Spurs defenders had stopped cos they'd heard the whistle for the handball, Assou-Ekoto was just walking along the line behind the keeper when it went in, he'd have stopped it going in, we should've had a penalty though when Oba was tripped by Woodgate,
-
Thought he looked well, and talked a fair bit of sense too, refreshing to have some opinions instead of usual cliched bullshit from the likes of Dixon, Lawrenson etc. What did he say abt us? That in the last 3 games we've played we've only played well in the last 25 mins of the games and need to play like that from the start, that we look nervous and are scared to score the first goal but when we've ended up conceding first we have then relaxed a bit and started to play. Thinks/hopes are home games will save us.
-
Even in his current condition he would do a better job in the middle of the park for us than Nolan & Butt!!!
-
would be Stevie Watson for me, can't think of anyone playing younger than 16, was in same school year as me and we played in the same north tyneside team, i was a few months older.
-
i'm hoping he'll be able to get some match practice in the reserves next week, play man u on wednesday week and get him ready for the pompey game. fingers crossed.
