If Longstaff had given this performance there would be at least 7 pages of posts along the lines of never wanting to see him in a Newcastle shirt again.
-
With the frequency of games he isn't training them everyday though. That's the issue. When we were dumped out of CL the previous time our form picked up significantly shortly afterwards. The frequency of fixtures is an issue at the moment and a very big one.
-
It's more trying to be competitive in 4 competitions that backfires on him and the team.
-
We can't cope with a congested fixture list. He needs time at the training ground with this lot.
-
If we had signed him would this have been a Howe signing? Seems he would have been right again. He has some hit rate.
-
I don't think he's going anywhere unless another team approaches. In wor Eddie we trust.

We got to the semi final of LC, still in the champions League and FA cup. It's not been too bad TBF. Premier League been poor but we aren't a million miles away from a European spot. Our away form needs looking at. Admire the guy for giving every match, even when 5-0 down on aggregate, getting the team to play with some pride in dire circumstances.
-
They need instant gratification. Not worried about the long-term or the instability. We have a successful manager and right now the team is going through a bad patch of form.. for a multitude of reasons, but people don't want to see or hear any sensible reasoning.
-
It is true, it just doesn't suit some users' agendas so that fact is an inconvenience - hence the reaction.
-
Our wage budget hinders a team like us to compete, in multiple competitions, with teams who have literally 3/4x more revenue than us. It's not an even playing field.
-
Every team has ups and downs. Even teams being managed by elite managers. Howe has transformed us in a short space of time, almost too quickly. His success is working against him now.
-
Now for a Wissa hattrick and a Ramsdale last minute equaliser.
-
3-0 down, 5-0 on aggregate and still pressing and winning the ball back in City's half. He certainly has the dressing room with him.
-
Wissa got 19 league goals last season. In a Brentford side. Yes we overpaid but what choice did we have in the end.. on paper we were signing a PL proven striker. But it hasn't worked out yet, hopefully it will but it's not looking good atm. Ramsay is a good player imo. Think he's judged much too harshly here. Elanga I'm not sure about. But the other two I can see why we did get them.
-
The failed attempts at signing Ekitike and João Pedro this summer.. If we signed them would they have been misfits? We had no DoF in place. What about the rest of team he has previously brought in Hall, Bruno, Isak, Tonali, Livra, Botman.. etc he knows how to spot a player. Sometimes signings don't work out.
-
I don't think you will be actively watching the game. Just posting in here.
-
Except when we won the competition last year. Or within the champions league this year. Ok
-
Toys out the pram huh? A manager who has won us a cup. Got us out of a relegation battle and into the champions League twice.. is the right man for the job.
-
We were 2-0 down and needing goals. The freedom Trippier had out there can see why he pushed forward. Only Tonali attempted that pass to him and failed.
-
Fucking hell they are out early tonight. We had to attack them. It's backfired. Have to move on and learn from it.
-
McNeil looks to have done alright at Everton the previous seasons. He hasn't done anything by the looks of things this year.
-
Had no DoF. We were turned down by everyone we wanted. Couldn't offer the wages other teams were offering either. But sure, why not blame Howe for all of that.
-
Their summer signings were worse than ours, believe it or not. They have been slightly fortunate this year, if made up the league table based solely on xG this year they would be 12th. So having a Nottingham Forrest-esque season. Incidentally we would be 6th on that same table. We aren't converting chances.
-
Gonna have to agree to disagree. Just would think any top club without a manager would inevitably be linked to a big name like Ancelotti. Which would have the potential to really unsettle us, just like it did for Everton. He left there in a hurry when Madrid called.
-
Let's say he did come to Newcastle. It is very likely it wouldn't go well. He would be linked to every top job throughout his time here, that's what happened at Everton and it was unsettling for the team. He was much bigger than that Everton job and he knew it and inevitably he left for Madrid. Would be the same with us. Conte at Spurs was the same, when managers are bigger than the job there is nothing to motivate them.
