  1. Mbeumo and Sesko could have joined a stable club with wor Eddie running the show, instead of that circus.
  2. When we was last in the CL he had barely any fit players. A totally exhausted and depleted squad. Tonali was banned. No time on the training ground between constant stream of games. In very bad form. I would argue that was the toughest time and he passed with flying colours there, turned around the form and got us playing good football again.
  3. Was holding the defenders shirt the entire time.
  4. Quite a lot of empty seats there
  5. Yeh he's been totally average all season but he scored a goal today.

    Jacob Ramsey

Majority of Villa fans were disappointed he was leaving and pissed off at the PSR rules for forcing them to sell. That's usually a good sign.
  7. We were desperate. We had just Osula at one point. He has 4 goals in 6 starts at the moment. So isn't in bad shape.
  8. The team was built around Isak. Everyone knew the runs Isak would make, we could counter with pace when we lost the ball and transition well. Stretch teams etc. The team with Big Nick has to be totally different. He doesn't gamble or bust a gut to get on the end of things yet. Hopefully the issues get resolved soon.
  9. I thought his end product was poor today. But looked lively. Barring the miserable Sunderland game, his output and form has been ok recently. Getting some goals and assists. I miss the player from two seasons ago mind.

    Jacob Ramsey

It's too early to say with him imo. He's tidy in possession doesn't really give the ball away. Wins the majority of his duels. Haven't seen him pass into the final third yet. Sure there is more to come from him. Solid but unspectacular start. Personally more worried about Elanga.
  11. It's maddening how many people actually believe the points you were responding to. It's like they are on the wind up.
  12. And before that Villa away loss we had won 5 out of 8 in the premier league. If we were to include the cups can can include the 2-0 away at Arsenal in the LC.
  13. We won 8 out of 19 away games last season. Lost 7. So sounds bullshit.
  14. The point that I was arguing is this narrative that Elanga, Ramsey and Ramsdale were his first choice for each positive. Why would those players I mentioned join when we didn't even have a DoF in place? We don't know who else was on the pool of players for each position.
  15. Mitchell left, we don't actually know the circumstances why he left. What we do know is Mitchell came in and acted a total clown in his briefings with the media and created negative media headlines for the next few weeks afterwards. If we are believing everything we read then he was the person responsible for reneging on the new contract for Isak. Only tangible thing he seemed to do was totally fuck up the Guehi transfer.
  16. You've made that up to fit a narrative you want to believe.
  17. Sorry but that is nonsense. We tried to sign every top available striker around. How long did we wait for Sesko - Reuben personally flew out to Germany to try and seal that. What about Joao Pedro? Kalimuendo and even Sorloth. How many bids were rejected for Wissa? And Larsen. What part of his plan involved deliberately waiting the whole window to sign a suitable striker.
  18. I don't get get the Elanga signing. I think there is a player in Ramsay. Why do you think they were first choice? He wanted Olise and Rafinha in that position previous windows vastly superior players. You're trying to use this narrative that he's totally against signing players from abroad. Yet we signed Thiaw and Woltemade in the summer.
  19. He wanted Trafford, Mbeumo, Cunha and Ekitike to name a few. Stop making out they were his first choice.
  20. ? With everything. Our DoF left on the eve of the window opening. Our forward went on strike and divided the team. We didn't sign a replacement until very, very late in the window. The Isak situation caused us to panic. We nearly ended up with Strand Larsen
  21. This is a Howe thread under performing Xg is totally on the players. Missing good chances in games isn't something he can control. Allowing us to cross ball after ball into the box with our physical presence is a lousy game plan, allowing our players to jog pass them is also pretty bad. We were just terrible in the final third. They didn't deliberately let us do anything.
  22. I get the criticism of Elanga. Don't really know why Ramsey has been singled out with him.
  23. No team would want us to dominate the ball like that and put cross after cross into the box constantly for the entire match - considering the physical size of our team. We were just total crap in the final third today.
