    Bramble

Was voted their player of the year werent he?
  2. He is still under contract and expects a nice loyalty bonus.
  3. I hope you realise that makes you look just as stupid. I don't get this .. he hasn't resorted to name calling.
  4. "Kd is having a dig at Villa". You see what happens. Brummie has been having digs the whole time, i repond by informing him of his teams on faults, then sad people twist it to me "having a dig". Villa have bought players that have done a job, I see nothing wrong with their policy. Then you're delusional or know f*** all about football (the latter would be my guess). 1) Cueller for £10m? 2) Davies is a decent player but £9M? 3) Milner for £12m? (i'm pretty sure you was one of many on here who laughed their heads off when Villa offered that, but i guess it's different now) 4) Shorey? 5) Fridiel and Young have been good. 6) Heskey? Where did Villa finish this season? Where did Man City finish? Where did Tottenham finish? The ends justified the means, Cuellar and Davies have looked good, Davies looked NT quality when Laursen was with him. Milner has been average but by no means a flop. Shorey has looked ok what exactly you are expecting from a left back I don't quite know. Heskey again has been there 6 months and looked average, but for £3.5 m is ok. At the end of the day KingDawson you can act like a pretentious condescending sod and claim I don't know football lolz, or you can look at the table and acknowledge that those players got Villa to finish sixth in the league, something Tottenham never looked like doing despite spending a shed load of money on the likes of Dos Santos, Bentley and , Gomes who you then tried to replace with Cuddicini . Cuellar whenever i have seen him play has been dreadful
  5. Kezman/Nixon implied that Cueller has been a good signing.
  6. Am i amongst the very few that believe Spurs aint been bad in their policy in recent times minus Pavy and Bentley- Modric, Corluka, Gomes, Keane (they made money on), Defoe and Palacios have been pretty decent. They finished the season on great form, and to get to where they finished was quite something considering there was a threat they might actually get relegated

  8. If he manages to get a move in the summer, I can only imagine that the rest of the players in his new club's dressing room are just going to royally take the piss out of him - on a daily basis. I assume he has considered how it will look amongst his fellow professionals He will be earning more than them so dont think it will be a big problem.
  9. What would be the point of saying something? The player threads on here are a mix of this: 'He's said nothing, he's a disgrace, doesn't care about the fans!' and 'I wish he'd just shut up with these empty promises and let his football do the talking!' He should have stepped forward as Club Captain, not only off the pitch but on it as well, he couldn't motivate himself or his team mates, he went missing and as Club Captain that's a disgrace. And he would've been slagged of by most for doing so IMO, it's no win for players in a losing team. Our club captain still hasn't had anything to say about our relegation, which is a f***ing joke. Which shows how absolutely gutless he is. Not to even appear before a camera or give an interview about relegation is completely cowardly, so what if he'd been slagged off? He's supposed to be a man not a mouse FFS. Well everyone knows he's leaving, i would see it as a complete piss take if he did indeed release one. 'O sorry we are relegated, we did try our best. Hope you guys come back up as soon as possible. Bye now'.
  10. I hadn't noticed this bit. David Bentley - 15m, Ashley Young 9m Except signing players from Watford is probably "boring ass" by your weird definition of what the point of football is. I thought it was to sign players who contribute to a productive teamt. The Spurs approach seems to be to go for players with fancy foreign names or absurd haircuts. Or players they only sold about 3 months before. I've demonstrated to you why our approach works better than yours, by any measure you like, other than the fact that we havent won the League Cup for 15 years, whereas you have. Tbh no one thought Bentley was a bad signing. Young at the time was more ridiculous, but hindsight is awesome.
  11. That's as good an example of walking out as I can think of. Similar to here though, he expected to be paid for doing it. Keegan: "I'm f***ing off in the summer" City: "No, you can f*** off now" In your opinion why did Keegan leave this time? Was he allowed to sign whoever he wanted, sold and keep whoever he wanted? Is that the right way to manage a Premier League club aiming to go up the table rather than down.
  12. Ribery, move Rooney up front. Still a hell of a team. True. But Chelsea were only 7 points off Man U last season, they'll improve next season. If Liverpool can keep Gerrard and Torres together all season plus bring in a couple of players they'll be the favourites for me tbh. Were only? 7 points is huge imo. If we had 7 more points we would of finished midtable.
  13. i'd say the one who refuse to criticise him are the ones living in the dream world, aka 1995. I cant really see what he did wrong tbh so it's hard to critise .. don't you remember an interview early on in his reign when he was asked about his return to Newcastle and he replies 'it's not like the brochure'. Ashely had the rest of the year, 35 games to replace him.

You have got to be kidding me

    RIP sale thread.

We're a yoyo club now then eh? I don't believe a thing that this bunch of c***s print BTW unless I know it too be true from elsewhere. The biggest offenders are: Owen, Viduka, Martins, Duff, Barton, Geremi, Smith, Butt All but one was signed under Shepherd. We were at around £70m a year in wages before Shepherd left and he's the one responsible for getting us there, nobody else. Ashley's an arsehole who should get the blame for some absolutely moronic decisions but he can't get the blame for our idiotic wage structure. Weren't these all Ashley buys? And Ashley had 2 years to sort out the wage structure or have you forgotten? Barton could of been fired. Smith could of been sold last summer. Owen could of been sold anytime. Viduka, Geremi, Butt not so much but could be a surprising taker. Every team has their deadwood too as well tbh recently read that Everton has just got rid of van der Meyde, completely forgot about him sure he was on a fairly good wage.
  16. By leaving a relegated club he has shown his true colours.. jeez. It's like we developed him from a child, some of the responses on this board.
  17. if clubs have agreed a fee and he wants to go, i believe he can go. I think something similar happened with Corluka
  18. Why would you bid for Huntelaar and RVN? You telling porkies again? Don't tell porkies! Redknapp doesn't rate Bent or Pav and Keane's thrown more strops since coming back. With Bent and Keane strongly linked with Sunderland and Pav wanted by Roma and Stuttgart, new strikers would be needed if they were all sold. ITK's are also saying that we are seriously interested in Standard Liege's Dieumerci Mbokani. Before that I'd never heard of him. They would take us back to 4 strikers if those 3 were sold. Personally, I don't think 3 will be sold so there wouldn't be any need to buy 3 either. Selling keane would sum up your joke of a club tbh. And your baggy faced c*** of a manager. How on earth can we possibly say that about another club!
  19. It is like us with Kevin Nolan and Ryan Taylor tbh. We were warned by actual fans of those clubs they were shit, but they were branded 'bitter' and they were good signings.
  20. Why would you bid for Huntelaar and RVN? You telling porkies again?
  21. Selling an 8-12 goal a season Premiership striker for £7m, and replacing him with a 20-25 goal a season Championship striker for less than half of that isn't the worst idea in the world tbh. How many 20-25 goal a season Championship strikers have even managed to get 8-12 goals a season in the Premiership? Scotland won't have to do that though. He can just play at the same level he's done well at recently and that will be good enough for us. Just meant that Martins may very well score more goals then Scotland in the Championship. Obviously I agree with the idea that we shouldn't have players on £65,000 a week in the Championship, but if we got a new owner who said we could afford it I'd prefer him to stay. Martins is not worth 65k whoever is in charge of the club tbh.
  22. He must be the worst Ballon D'Or winner in history then. Looking at that list of players, he is clearly the worst one by a mile. By a mile? OK... There'll never be a decent discussion on here involving Owen because everyone way too is biased for whatever reasons. Theres no doubting that he was a very good player in his time, and for a while he was an excellent finisher for us. But he was never at Torres standard. The argument that Torres plays in a better team is fair enough, but then you have to say that Torres played for Athletico Madrid who were less of a team again and still performed and scored plenty of goals. Obviously its ambiguous but Ive watched Owen from the start to the end of his career and imo he's never been as good a player as what Torres has been. That dont make sense.. Owen played for Newcastle(!) and barring January onwards this year - he still scored plenty of goals.
  23. You mean the worlds best striker in a team that is ALOT more attacking then Houlliers ever was. When Owen used to play for Liverpool they would shut up shop when they get 1-0 in front, and he got 18 or 19 in many seasons, not bad for someone who always picks up injuries too. Rubbish comparison
