  1. What the fuck.. what was that celebration about?
  2. 9 more shots from Rooney and he will score
  3. Why fit in Kinnear when he's out of contract on 30 June? Derek and Ashley love him, im sure they will attempt to keep him at the club in some capacity.
  4. Yep..my sentiments exactly. They aint been talking long though, we have the matter of JFK (prob try fit him in somewhere), coaching staff contracts, length of the deal, investment, assurances, etc is going to take a while.
  5. Why cant people take a step away from being a fan and look at everything from both sides before branding stuff as 'crap'. We as fans obviously are going to be biased and protective over whats written about Newcastle. However if you read it, he is simply stating Shearer is only here because of his hero status (which is of course true), that there are more qualified people then him and we haven't been impressive at all since he has been here. Of course he missed a few points ie: players are spineless, and his leadership skills and the way he unites the club together. He has some good point though.
  6. Not surprising if he wants out again - its the 2nd time of trouble.

Then join Mozy in the self-pity denial league and leave the rest of us to look ahead. Its a bit ironic that you obviously deny my point and tell me to join the 'denial league'. Its all factual buddy any player would rather join a PL team, so we cant be a big club. I agree with clintdempsey totally that we provide a lot of value to the city and area and we do have good support, but that doesnt attract players though or win any points or rewards.

Nope I dont think you can use just following to define a big club. Celtic and Rangers have massive following i don't consider them big on European stage at all and i wouldn't say Leeds is a big club either. We aren't even in the top tier of English football anymore.. Wigan and Bolton are actually more attractive destinations then Newcastle at the moment. Both Celtic and Rangers would probably be recognised as big clubs on the European Stage as well. History should actually count for something in this argument aswell. And you would have more chance of actually having a conversation with your average european regarding Celtic, Rangers or Leeds than you would talking about Wigan and Bolton. Ok so admittedly we would be more well known to Europeans with some knowledge of football. That doesn't hide the fact that Wigan and Bolton to any right minded professional would see these as a step up from Newcastle at this moment in time in terms of international prospects, league competition, wages and heavy exposure of the league around the world.
  9. Ye i remember that too.. time changes opinions of people ie: Dyer, SBR time of sacking and Robert.

  12. Why would it matter if they are paying back the loan immediately or in installments. If they are buying the club they will know they are in debt - and would be a factor in their decision making.

Whats your point that we are still a big club - our league finishes/division/players/prospects are anything but big time? Juventus is the biggest team in Italy we dont really compare to that to be honest.
  14. If we get promoted we won't have the money to survive in the Premier League we are going to be crippled with Championship players, and an owner who is intent on running the club with the goal of breaking even each and every year. We will have a transfer budget of maybe 10million at most? if we came back up. I would hate for this club to be a yoyo club. I would gladly accept a takeover, i have zero faith in this lot.
  15. I keep reading this on the forum, is there any proof at all. The only decision he has got right in his tenure has been appointing Shearer, he can't get them all wrong lets not see this as turning a corner just yet!

    Ashley statement

I notice that he doesn't reaffirm his commitment to the club, or am i seeing too much into it

    Ashley statement

He has sold the club for a Mars bar.
  18. This has to be one of the most ridiculous things you have ever said bud. Jesus wept. Club has huge history and following in Italy some of the very best players in the world has spent entire careers there, yet his is certain to go down the pan.

    Obafemi Martins

His car got shot up in recent years when he was there right? Was lucky to escape if i remember rightly. That s*** would put me off going back there too. Didn't that turn out to be a load of bollocks? lol no idea. was it?

  21. What, you mean that when their present managers leave they're not going to have to appoint a new one? Of course there's a comparison. They'll have to make a decision about who's going to be their manager and you can bet your bottom dollar that a sentimental attachment with the club won't come very high on their list of requirements for the role. A fair number of Man Utd fans would like Roy Keane to manage them one day or Steve Bruce.
  22. Apologies, if that's how it came across, I wasn't meaning people were attacking me personally, rather that people are attacking my opinion, yet not backing up their own. No-one's really made an extensive positive case for Shearer as manager, yet many people have taken the time to disagree with my view that he might not be. How about a huge majority of our supporters support him want him to continue. Will give him time to turn this team around and rebuild under him. Been a winner all his carear, great leadership skills. Players respect him. Hasn't been long out of the game, idolized by alot of the younger players, knows what the fans expect. Been coached by some of the best managers in the Premier League era. Now i think i have seen you suggest Steve Coppell.. wouldn't be an inspired choice, ok he has led a promotion campaign but not alot more. Are you sure that there's no-one else out there that could offer that, the equivalent, or more? Are you so sure that you don't even want to have a look and see? It was Dave that mentioned Coppell, I said I thought he was a decent manager, but that the pressure would get to him at SJP. I don't want them to look for someone else, in all honestly. Not because it's Shearer, its because we need stability and our record of chopping and changing managers is frankly appalling. Fans want him here, he wants to be here, whole nation thinks he should be given the job. If we appoint him, we would appear to be settled have our house somewhat in order. Even if we spend a year in championship, we would have given the guy a chance -and move on. I am pretty confident with him here, he's going to get rid of the right people replace them with what we need and mount a serious promotion campaign. So i'm all for the guy.
  23. No it hasn't. Ye totally has, you got that opinion after 8 games and in your own words he learns from his mistakes and can spot things that aren't working.. so this suggests he's not 'going to be a good manager for us' does it? Now you have seemed to put that on the back burner and your point now is there are other managers out there. Ok true, like who? Fans would be on their back because majority would want Shearer to stay on. Is that good for the club .. no! We need stability, Shearer has the backing of most of us we will give him time. I think bringing him in for a relegation dogfight was a more critical time for the club tbh. We are in the worst case scenario, let us rebuild under the guy. Let him have his own team.
