56mil that's crazy money. I haven't followed Italian football for a while but his form hasn't been as strong as it was a few years ago is that right?
-
Because he wants to make out like Berlusconi is selling him, he's not asking to be transfered. I think he wants the Ultras to like him. I think its more AC Milan can't say no to that kind of offer. Berlusconi has even said 'it's not an even playing field'
-
Your point?
-
Whats the difference of when he was scoring the start of this season and form suddenly dips post Christmas? Firstly, the chances created were abysmal. Secondly, he knew he was leaving wanted to avoid injuries, went through matches without looking like he gave a fuck. He will be a good addition to anyone in Premiership if he at least halves his wages and joins a team who create chances and a mobile midfield that creates space.

Swapping 60 million euros and Sneijder or Robben if you take the word of the media

Barry was never a leader. Any Villa fan will tell you that. Laursen definitely was, though. Barry had a lot of responsibility on the pitch though. A lot of your play went through him. I meant it more from that standpoint. I would agree that Laursen was more of a leader though, definitely. Any news on who you might be bringin in to replace either of them? Bassong and Joey Barton
-
Just like Beye and Faye Or Rozehnal, Cacapa, Geremi, Smith, Barton. We didn't lose any money on Rozenhal, Cacapa and Geremi were free and Barton remains our best midfielder, he's been robbed of this season mostly because of injury. Smith i'll give you, horrible signing Just on transfer fees maybe, but wages have been astronomical. £2m sign on for Geremi too iirc. I didn't include Viduka as I think he's a talent, but no-one could say he's been worth his (reported) £70kpw. Barton's a decent player that has been a disaster and has to go down as such in terms of a signing. One of his few decent signings (and his most expensive) he didn't even rate himself, and left to rot on the bench. Did we really pay money for Geremi?
-
I bet you'll try until the last day of the transfer window to get Sturridge, then at the last minute fail but sell Barry to them anyway. For £5m. Paid next summer. I dont think anyone in football can be that stupid... ooooh
-
I didn't really see anything last season that suggests he is worth anything like the 17 million Liverpool were preparing to pay last season. Man City have a midfield good enough to not even need the guy. Unless he will settle for a squad player role it's a waste of a signing imo, they showed alot of ambition chasing Kaka now signing likes of Barry.
-
And signed Smith instead of Elano. Every half decent manager in the world has passed on a player they have regretted in the end.

I agree in ideal world that would of happened. As he has as much leadership skills as a dead fish but stripping someone of captaincy during a season just never happens. It's a complete humiliation for the player involved and will surely unsettle the team, at the time of Shearers arrival he seemed to really rate him too. I think he wanted keep morale as high as possible in the circumstances, try get some collective responsibility between them all and act more like a team. Stripping captaincy wasn't going to be the way to do that it's just inviting rifts and a split camp. Didn't Big Sam take away captaincy from Geremi very early on, results tailed off drastically - more likely thats a coincidence - but never happens in football.

He was their player of the year. So must be.
-
Some may say it's a small point but I think it's pretty damning. I don't care whether his contract is expiring, he should have least made some sort of statement. He's made a disgrace of the captaincy IMO. Tbh, although your completely right, if he did release one it would come across as a big piss take after all he made under 70 appearances(complete guess) in years and everyone knows he is fucking off in a couple of weeks. He can't really say 'im sorry, the team is sorry, c ya now bye bye'. I think he just wants to keep quiet, leave with as little press attention as possible.
-
With all the justified negatively towards the guy easy to overlook but was a breath of fresh air when it came to the transfer window, got alot of deals done early and always seemed to be looking and sniffing around clubs.
-
They'd take one look at his injury record, and that would be enough. Didnt stop them from getting Ronaldo and they gamble on out of form players like Ronaldinho, Shevchenko
-
I have a sneaky feeling he would end up somewhere like AC Milan

He had ONE big injury Owen has milked every little bump. He's been an absolute disgrace. I just hope he's an absolute disaster at Everton. The lure of waving a sick note won't be resisted long. He did it at Liverpool last season there, did it at Real, and done it here. Too often to be all genuine. My guess is he'll do the biz for the first 3-4 months, then it'll start. Some of your posts the last few days buddy have been so paranoid, relax a bit more and accept it. He has had one big injury his career? Thats kind of ridiculous ask yourself why? He gets a shitload in appearance fee's has a 1 in goal scoring record his entire career why would be want to be in physios room. Requires spending more time at the club than anyone who is fit. Im sure when he gets treatment, hospital scans and the like the medical staff at the hospital and club can back up your claim! Paranoid ? Little over-reaction from YOU I'd say So - Owen's played more often than not, right ? The figures lie, right ? He DIDN'T spend most of his time at Real on the sick list ? Whats a "1 in goal scoring record" ? Scored once in half a season ? I suppose thats what he did at the end for us. Even Shola did better. Owen spent too much time helicoptering up here, and not enough time on the pitch in his time here Believe what YOU want (and ignore the long absenses during his time) I'll believe the opposite. "I'm sure when he gets treatment" What do you think he's been getting in the last 3 seasons ? Witch doctors ? You suggested he had 1 big injury and faked/exaggerated all the rest. It's quite ludicrous buddy tbh. Why and how buddy? He sees phyios who are obviously qualified and tell a fake from an authentic injury(or should do!). His injurys stopped him from playing .. there is absolutely not one single reason why he would not want to play. Like i say he has appearance fees to be gained from playing, playing bonuses, sponsorship deals, his England career prospects. Plus when your injured your at the training ground more than anyone else, why just why would you think that?

Jesus what a thread, so bitter. Every team would like to see another established team go down, i was happy to see Leeds go down. Now i would like to see them back, if Spurs, Villa, Man City were on brink of relegation i would be kind of amused about it. It's just the way of the world.
-
I'm pretty sure he turned us down as he had a clause in his contract saying he didn't have to extend if we didn't finish top 10. I think it was pretty mutual between the two actually. Even if he wanted to stay we would not have let him, he didn't seem popular amongst the management.
-
Where did the newspapers get this figure from? I bet the source of this shit is the same person who gave us 'Keegans list of players' to discredit the guy.
-
Im sure most was saying exactly this when there was CONSTANT reports that Keegan and the guys above him didn't get on and we passed it off as typical media shit. Until the situation erupted and they were completely proved right.
-
It's obviously Shearers fault. Demanding too much, MA can't provide it so he's on his bike.

This. No players can leave/signed until 1st July, im sure some investors see potential in a cut price club who are under performing and (undervalued?) as on paper have alot of assets and plus points. Not true, the window opened at 6pm today. However, players and agents refuse to move until July because it means they miss out on their annual loyalty bonus. Ok I didn't know that. However that makes the point still valid, no players will move until then

Our manager talks are still on-going. MA wouldnt of entered into the talks if he knew he won't sign up Shearer. Shearer will already know the players he wants rid of, and the expected money he can make from them and i'm pretty certain he would already know (from all the discussions lately) how muchof that he can use to rebuild. So he can plan.
