The problem in that we are probably unwilling to pay them what they want for him. Infuriating
-
Either way i wish we'd get an f'ing move on
-
Was MOTM in Sunday Mirror
-
The paper version of the Times ( I was coincidentally reading on the way to the match on Sat) very explicitly said that he was putting in a transfer request as he wanted to move to England, whilst reporting our bid. I then found a copy of WSC on the train that had a report saying that Lyon were brassed following their ig spending spree of the last couple of years and desperately trying to reduce the wage bill and get rid of big stars. That was why thye had sold Makoun for around half his purcahse price in Jan. Looks like this lad could be on if we stump up the money (big if like)

I cracked up. Same here - brilliant
-
he's been burying his Gran man, have some respect
-
That's nonsense there was serious envy from many on here when he signed for West Ham - because he was good at hoffenheim
-
Taylor has surpassed him - probably due to his performances whilst Willo was out at the end of last season
-
Bet they miss the incredibles

I wouldn't be too concerned if these players have been scouted properly and we know what we are getting. I'm not too confident that's the case though. It smacks a bit of opportunist gambling and hoping one will come off. Just read Shayno's assessment of the player and it makes you wonder what are we doing? I sincerely hope he knows f*** all about the game and it's just another fan who thinks he's an armchair expert (no offence Shayno!) Oh I'm not complaining, don't get me wrong. It's just an observation. If as you say we're confident through scouting that any such player will make the transition then great. I just find it all a bit mixed up, £7m is a hell of a lot of money for this board to spend if a player like this Maiga with one good season and seemingly questionable attitude fails to score goals in a superior league. They're so inflexible though - that if they have a certain budget they'll stick to it - even if it means taking a bigger gambling or missing out on a key target for the sake of a couple of milion extra.
-
Seems to me that we have about 7m earmarked for a striker, know that cannot get us the quality we are looking for in the domestic market and so are attempting to use our scouts to unearth a bargain from France.

Thank f*** for that. I was scratching my head as to why Tiote was the furthest forward of the two. Hopefully against lesser opponents Cabaye will own. He got further forward in the second half though, as he found his feet Aye this is true, but then after a run forward he was absolutely f***ed Was he? I couldn't see that as I was at t'other end

They are in the poo financially. Makoun was sold for half of what they paid for him.
-
Sounds like his breath stinks. Bad for team morale. Lock the thread.

Cant see them letting him go for that though. true but i could not see us letting Jose go for similar. When a player signals an intent to leave it can have a real impact.
-
The times say our bid is 5.5 m and that the lad has handed in a request to leave ' preferably for England' in the next 48 hrs
-
Was in Journal I think Maybe I'm being blind by not seeing this, but has anyone posted this or the Chronicle article? Don't see it on the Chronicle site.
-
Shame we didn't get Neil Taylor
-
Brton just tweeted about a really good sesh this am and looking forward to season starting tomoz

Bad times. I liked Jose a lot but have no time at all for the dippers. Hopefully his chronic hamstring injury will keep popping up.
-
Ryan Taylor - groin strain......
-
Fucking looking at - it's a bit late for that
