I agree. Good back up tho'. As shown against Spurs for example last year. Still can't work out what happened at the Hawthorns mind....

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Can't happen this
  4. They're saying Defoe has ruled out the move on SSN
  5. Both, or do they not know which? Meant to say 'and'. Bassong would have been decent. Certainly would have helped cover LB issue as well. A player like Bassong is just what we need Indeed - would certainly be pushing for a slot alongside Colo if he could recapture his form, if not a definite starter. And could cover Enrique. No doubt Spurs would want about £10 million for him or something equally astronomical. And his history with us would be a problem. Someone who can play left back and centre back would be great though.

  7. Good win and performance. Much better to wake up to than a draw/ loss and catalogue of injuries

Like I said when he got appointed they had massive debts unknown to many on here and relegation was an utter disaster for them. Amazing that West Ham and Birmingham haven't been able to get rid of their prize assets/big earners. And that West Ham see to be spending still. Not sure how I want Brum to go. lot of time for Hoots, but not keen on Birmingham as a club - in particular the fans I saw a few years ago at our FA cup game.
  9. Hence Ashley's fury about the whole saga..... I see, in that case do you reckon he was even more furious with himself after his fuckwitted decisions lead to relegation and a far bigger loss of revenue than anything Jose has done? I would imagine he was metaphorically kicking himself yes
  10. Coming back from adversity to end the tour on a high - a sympthom of strong team spirit?
  11. Pards denied a bid I think? Seem to remember he talked of interest but no bid.
  12. Where did that come from? Talksport? Yip

Why is Barton so desperate for a new contract if we lack ambition? Where's that quote from nut?

I wouldn't say it was a disastrous pre-season for him. He looked very fit and sharp against Darlo. True - but having your ankle ligamnets busted hardly represents a good 'un

He's under no threat at all, at present. Can't wait for the footie to start again.

It isn't new is it? See all the signings madee to the development squad over the last 3-4 years and the age profile of our first team signings (with the odd exception) over the last couple.
  19. At least this might expedite things so we've time to get in a replacement
  20. All a bit fucking depressing.

Surely that should be paid by the club selling the player. They are showing no loyaty in effectively releasing him early selling him Exactly - he was waiting for that and demanding we were to pay it if he moved. Was he demanding that or his agent though? Who knows, we will never know. I read it as the player being due the paymnent and the agent insisting he hung around to get it. Csn't remember where I saw it tho If he is due a payment "contractually" that is a matter for his club, not ours. That would explain why this has gone absolutely nowhere. Yes - it becomes our issue if we want buy him tho'
