Locals were great. Either magnamamous Everton fans or Liverpool fans who were pleased and friendly for obvious reasons. As for the game, what a gret performance - particularly the first half. The biggest accolade for how much better we looked is that Enrique didn't look head and shouldre s above the rest of the team, all our players raised their game to his standard. In the first half there was a fuency to our simple and short passing that I've not seen in a while. An energy and movement that pulled Everon all over the place. Second half we were obviously under the cosh and dropped back a bit too much, but I suppose that was to be expected.

Did all the simple things really well. Just what was needed in a game like this. Very impressive start.

I have no idea what the score is going to be. This is why I'm willing to spend good coin and invest emotional energy in attending the game. You've got to hope, right?
-
Hoping to see Tiote and Ben Arfa start. Well i say see, but with my 'obstructed view' tickets......
-
Aye but most of the people on Smogside have 2 head,s you know with the s*** they pump out there. That may have been the point

See stoke home in the relegation season for the correct answer
-
It's only a draw or a massive beating? I think a narrow defeat is infinitely more likely
-
Barton's an irrelavance in terms of this tackle. It was a foul, no more or less. Mark Hughes even said as much.
-
his treatment of Barton was poor. Yesterdays was not a particularly bad challenge though
-
Yeah, his clinical reverse pass at Wolves to play in Routledge was just so bad. He aint perfect, but it is a gross simplification to claim he can't pass at all
-
Couldn't agree more. There was an argument for making the subs earlier and bring on Tiote. However, these lads are new to the club (particularly Tiote) and he may have thought that it was too early to give Ben Arfa more than 20 mins. It's the team selection against Everton that he should be judged on.

Fat Sam used to use it.

No excuse for missing the match that!
-
Still no pictures? Maybe it didn't....

Championship clubs can still come in for him Our failure to get a striker in could see him stay Yip we need him now
-
Still yes for me

Caleb Folan suddenly sounds a prospect

I disagree, he seems like a very poor football player. He's not strong, hes weak as s***, his crossing is abysmal. He himself is utter s*** as a player. Look, he has three yellow cards in 3 matches and should've had 4 or 5 already. We got lucky with his bad tackle against Wolves. I'm sorry but the amount of stick he gets is deserved, however I hope he'll prove me wrong. Unduly harsh. Not sure if you've seen all of the Wolves game for instance - but he has some redeeming qualities. Pace, decent passing in the main and he can actually cross (though maybe not consistently)
-
He's struggled at times, but is showing promise. It is a shame he is having to go in as a starter straight away as it is exposing him a bit. He has some promise though. He's quick and can make decent tackles. His decision making isn't the best though as eviddenced by his current average of a booking per game.

Even the twitter shitters have gone quiet. maybe we can sign Nobby for old time's sake
-
I was referring to last year - when I saw him.
-
I think he's a pretty good player tbh, definitely not 'very bad'. He looked poor on Sat - that aside he has been very good of late
-
Dropping Barton following his last few performances would be well harsh. Can't see Ch doing that.
-
Things have gone very qquiet - maybe Craig, Edwards et al are right and our work is done. Still a good window mind

Tor-Kristian Karlsen on twitter: don't want to drop names but from what i understand villa are pressing hard for a manager who's currently in a fairly decent job (in the uk) CH!
