Really? Looked like he misplaced it to me, and Ba only got to it because of his quick thinking and the WBA defender slipping. Good performance from him though. Would like to see him start ahead of Best on Boxing Day. I was convinced it was deliberate, but very unorthodox. Ba wasn't looking for that ball, but Benny made the instinctive calculation that if he dropped the ball into that particular area at the right pace, then Ba would get there before the defender. It's the type of ball that you don't see very often, and is completely beyond most players. It is the kind of ball he seems to play regularly - much like the one for Ba at the Etihad. No way was it a fluke.

He looked well up for it. Pards was geeing him up as he waited to come on (good to see). Lovely assist too. Nice short corner routine leading to Tiote's chance. Gave it away once - but we was (sic) chasing the game. Did really well imo and warrants a start on Monday (a match which we look destined to lose)

thought best was poor today. Well let's say we got this Maiga chap. Ignoring the ACoN, do you really believe it would have been just him or Ba alongside HBA with the other on the bench? No chance IMO. no, one of them with ben arfa and marveaux behind them (unlikely i grant you) Absolutely no chance Ashley would sanction a ~£7m signing as a player for rotation if you ask me. He'd have to be a starter, as is Ba. Some pretty expensive players have been benched under this regime - even now HBA and Santon. I'd say that the manager is given a (limited) budget and then has autonomy to operate within that
