Rather than the passionless stroll in the park it actually was

If both teams are full strength and produce their best, you'd probably have to give them the edge but the way we're able to defend, I give us a chance against most teams.
-
Forgot about the Johnson one. Hardly golden, he just hit it straight at him from an angle. They lost this with a poor result in the first game but at the least as a fan, i'd have expected a bit mor, they were mentally beaten before they started.
-
Golden ffs. Only one I remember hit that plank Surridge standing in the way, probably goes in like.
-
The Forest fans who traipsed to this game must be over the moon with their passionate and frenetic attempts to get back into this. One half chance in 80 minutes. Heap of shite.

Class marking on Fred there

Doesn't usually stop them like

Shite game this. If only Dennis had scored and that big idiot Surridge hadn't got in the way, might have made it interesting. Just meandering to a crap conclusion. Nowt to fear from these like, not if we play like we can.

Dreadful...like a memory of a bad dream

Reminds me of the time at a game in the 90s, some bloke behind me was yelling and screaming about something, face the colour of blancmange and accidently gobbed a big lump of phlegm onto the shoulder of the fella in front of him (two long from me). Not nearly as bad but still makes me queasy to think about it

Cancelo with a sumptuous assist for Bayern against Mainz on his debut

Surridge you big plank

Martinez wagging his finger there, like being told off by a 9 year old

There are a few clubs this season who's relative success has maybe been to one degree or another, a surprise. Ourselves, Arsenal and Brighton stand out. The shared ingredients are good coaching, a real plan, team spirit and togetherness. Chelsea, although the answer is right under their noses, do not care about any of that and consequently do not possess any of that. They're signing amazing players yeah, but what they lack, they just cannot buy and it's why they'll fail overall. Hopefully anyway

How would you rate our January 2023 Transfer Window?
LionOfGosforth replied to Rich's topic in Football
It actually feels churlish and silly to complain about literally anything right now. We're in a cup final and third in the league. I mean most days I feel like i'm dreaming, so moaning to myself we didn't sign a CM, I keep telling myself to shut the fuck up and enjoy it. -

I'm at a 5. I felt we needed a CM before losing Shelvey so to spend what was clearly the vast majority of our January budget on a wide forward instead, felt a bit miscalculated initially. That said, they've more than earned our trust and Gordon likely fits us like a glove stylistically and tactically. Ashby was likely a very good signing and one for the future who can contribute short-term hopefully as well. We may end up looking back on getting rid of Wood and Shelvey (without obvious like for like replacements) as a really good thing in the end though. Wages etc freed up for the summer when, hopefully, sponsorship etc will be in place allowing us to compete fully. Got to trust them. I'm actually hovering between a 5 and a 6 but it could end up being a 7-8, depending on how the new signings bed-in. We've risked a lot with the CM thing though, last night already exposed it. -
All so normal and professional seeming for a well-run PL club. Welcoming a young lad to a new club with friendly, professional people everywhere you look, nice introductions to the area with quality well-made media. Imagine what it was like before? "Aye aalreet Anthony? Gan and find yersel a peg in that room ower there. We might have a kickabout in a bit. Day off the morra. And the next day. Come back Friday mebbe"

James Maddison (now playing for Tottenham Hotspur)

Always great to have fans of other teams contributing. I find they usually have good insights to their players, more so than the media tripe you get force-fed these days. Hope you stick around -
Too much muchness tbh

Rampant misogyny tbh

Shit luck all the same, hope the lad makes a full recovery

Impressively dull game at Preston
