  1. So sick of the sight of this God-awful character and his seriously low IQ and defensive outbursts. He's had dozens of opportunities to display humility and to get the fans even a little onside and he's wasted every one, from the first day to now. So tired of the media and the hard-done-by narrative that continually gets spewed. I doubt there's another manager would get this sort of universal media backing, with nothing of substance to support it. Every single day he continues to represent NUFC and be the manager makes me want to vomit. It's a truly sick marriage and the sooner it's over the better.
  2. It's a daft statement for him to make it's not even truly possible in reality, unless FFP is relaxed and then we're competing with everyone with money.
  3. Looking ahead...in an ideal world, we get a good management team in, in the next couple of weeks, pick up some results, make one or two decent January signings, we stay up. It's summer 2022, we've got 200m to spend (approximately given what's been reported, before we hit FFP issues). So, let's say we spend 200m on 5-8 players, I think realistically, that gets us somewhere close to the 8-10 spots in the league. Maybe that's a little pessimistic, but something like Villa, Everton, West Ham area. 200m is a large sum of money, so much more than we've spent for so long, but what does that get you these days? Most half-decent players seems to cost 30-40m. So let's say we're a somewhat established top 10 side, now what? We can't outspend anyone given FFP, unless there's loopholes i'm not aware of. So, and I know i'm getting way ahead of myself here but, what's the realistic plan to crack top 6, top 4? I think it has to be somewhat the Leicester model. We can't go out and sign the world's "best" or "elite", FFP won't allow that. It's not 2008 anymore, we can't just do what Man City basically did and outspend everyone. So how do we get there? Huge investment in the training ground and managerial and coaching setup is a must but I think the scouting....the scouting team has to be the best there is. Just as important as the manager, DoF etc. Who that might be? No clue, not up on the best in that area. Investment in the academy is needed but that will take years to bear fruit. If we're going to somehow get near the top 6 or top 4, we need the very best scouting to unearth those gems that we can spend 10-20m and make the leap. I don't even know if it's realistic honestly. Those top few clubs are light years ahead of us. I'm as excited as anyone but realism is starting to kick in a bit and although it's been obvious from the first moment this became real, this really is a very long-term project. Dunno, just a few random thoughts
  4. There could be many reasons for the perceived lack of action in the past week. Could be legal, could be financial, could well be they've been knocked back by several candidates due to it being "too early" for more established people, too much risk etc I'm not saying this is the case but it's entirely possible that the consortium, in the days before the takeover was fully completed, had pre-conceived ideas that their financial clout would lead to a quick resolution to the managerial situation. It's not inconceivable that they've since come to realise that it's not quite as simple as they hoped it would be, and that finding the right manager and staff who would be willing to come in, with the right team, might take a bit longer than they initially assumed. It's also entirely possible that's bollocks and there's some legal stuff to sort and it's better to have the current setup remain until the right team is ready, to get through the next game or two. I hate Bruce and his gurning self-pitying mug as much as anyone and want him gone ASAP. Nobody really knows what's actually gone on, but we have to trust they're working their arses off behind the scenes to make the right choice and it'll happen soon.
  5. A little bit of responsible journalism would be helpful in the coming days like. There's obvious reservations to be had away from the sporting side of things and a few influential journalists with some common sense could certainly verbalize this appropriately, without whitewashing anything, or pushing it under the carpet. It's gonna get a little bit tiring that our fanbase is being held to account by many.
  6. Not totally up to date with modern continental managers, Is he the lad who played up top for Napoli in the 90s?
  7. It's an astounding viewpoint and honestly betrays, at least that individual's, true colours.
  8. You have to at least try to laugh it off. We're gonna get it from everyone and if you can't let it go and just smile, your health is going to suffer. It will be fierce and it will be incessant for a while. The jealousy and hypocrisy if off the charts and it's only day 2
  9. You said exactly what I was trying to say earlier but much more eloquently
  10. This might sound initially silly. But think about it. This next 5-10 years (hopefully longer of course) COULD be the most exciting era ever in the club's history. I don't even mean compared to what went before, I mean EVER. If we as humans, were able to see 500 years into the future to be able to look back, this next decade or so might actually be AS GOOD AS IT EVER GETS. It's all philosophical speculation based on nothing more than adrenaline and excitement I know, but it might never get as good as it's about to get, ever again. The main point being, don't let other's jealousy, agendas and pious hypocritical bullshit get in the way of enjoying this. If you want to argue and engage with them, have fun with it. If you want to agree with general points that others make and have meaningful discourse on serious topics beyond football, have at it, more power to you. Don't let it spoilt your health as i've allowed the past 14 years to impact mine. This is way too big not to enjoy to the fullest. It might not ever be an era to be repeated. Don't let it pass you by. I hope this post comes across like I intended
  11. Every time I think about the professional, passionate, ambitious and communicative people we now have running our club, I just feel emotions I haven't felt in years. This is a wonderful time to be alive.
  12. Between all of that, the behavior of their fans through the 70's and 80's and the wankfest in general at their club that still goes on nauseatingly today, their entire fanbase seems to have a collective irony bypass thing going on. Pretty sweet, we're now hated because we're a threat to their closed shop at the top.
  13. In the past that might even have gotten under my skin, i'd probably have been raging at the utterly ridiculous closed-shop attitude. I mean do they actually read what they write and believe it the fucking corny, entitled arseholes? I used to feel much more affinity in football terms with Liverpool than the snidey bitter sods across the park, the city itself is quite similar to Newcastle as well. if this is their general script they can shove it where the sun don't shine. Today is a new day, I just smile and move on with my day, knowing and believing that we're finally owned by credible, professional people who want to improve us and that we're finally rid of the cancerous wretch. Whatever comes, that's plenty enough for me.
  14. It's going to take a while for it to sink in that, in theory at least, we can now afford anything and anyone in a footballing sense. Whether we can immediately attract the very best yet in the managerial and playing sense, remains to be seen. We're not about to just come along and poach Pep or sign Salah. But I think we've seen the last of the days when we'd be rumored to have agreed a fee for a player but everyone is saying "Aye, but we'll not pay the wages man, at least we tried", or "He's playing great, will be an honour to see him in a Liverpool shirt". We no longer need to do that. I personally think this is the new owners opportunity to make a real statement, they'll talk in humble terms but in reality, they're going to want to make a big move and ensure we don't struggle. Time will tell.
  15. I don't think there's anything that couldn't be improved from academy, PR, commercial, sponsorship, playing staff, managerial and coaching staff, the list is almost endless and prioritizing all that is a job in itself. Overall though, as Yorkie said, the right manager with the right coaching setup and the team with that and the feelgood factor will get results and everything else can fall into place.
  16. Didn't think it was possible to hate this creep more with each passing day but fuck me, he proves me wrong daily
  17. I do think i'm ever so slightly in love with this woman, but more in a reverent, respectful kind of way. 4 years she worked for this to happen. Could probably have moved on but stuck around. She seems to immediately get the city and understands that this is a long-term job to chop out the 14 years of decay. Leaving the first team to one side for a minute, very excited to see what the consortium does on the commercial side of things and the changes to our training facilities and academy, thank fuck the days of being run down, told to know our place, sponsored, run and managed by chancers and spivs are gone.
  18. Its also on YT, 11 glorious minutes of her professionalism and down-to-earth eloquence
  19. It's just starting to sink in that we're about to become the biggest and best club we can be, finally. At 50, honestly thought i'd never see it happen.
  20. Can't honestly gather my thoughts. 24 hours of madness, can't get my head round it.
  21. Reports the deal is done are wide of the mark, the cash went in the wrong direction
  22. Feel like i'm dreaming, Ashley gone?!?
  23. Definitely wasn't gonna be Staveley's bagman
  24. Not at all, it actually made me think about it a bit more. I suppose in some sense, there's less chance to be counter-attacked if you take a short corner, since possession is easier to control and coaches are terrified of transitions and counters. From that perspective it makes sense. I still just hate them, it seems like it's just a way to maintain possession and not used to truly attack in a creative way, so it bores me. If they were used creatively, sure.
