No its actually putting off sponsors from stumping up anything from £10m to £20m for renaming the ground which could go towards player purchases. What gets me is the longer fans keep putting this graffitti up, the more sponsors will be put off and the longer the ground will be called Sports Direct Arena instead of something like "Virgin Media @ St James Park". These no marks just haven't thought through their actions because Ashley will be quite happy to keep it as the Sports Direct Arena to promote his shops. Please, just stop peddling the Ashley wants to invest in the team line. I don't think he does at all.

When was the last time we were 6th? Or is the best league position in nearly 10 years not progress in your books? We are sixth despite Ashley not because of him!! If he had shown a modicum of ambition last summer we would be at the top IMO. Some of the Ashley fanboys in this thread are beyond the pale. The graffiti is a marvelous response to his attitude. Long may it continue. Now, now ok 5th then

Anyone recall the scene in Monty Pythons Life of Brian where Brian was made to cover the city walls with 'Romans go home'. graffiti. I have this vision of St. James' Park daubed all over the walls like that, it would look very artistic.
  7. An Ashley apologist is exactly what you are, just because the fat cockney b****** has made himself rich by exploiting people and selling tat to charvas doesn't give him the right to p*ss all over the history of the club.

The safest time to do this again will be 1/2 hour before kick off next home game. The painter will be clapped and cheered and a riot will breakout if anyone tries to intervene.

Spiteful & vindictive. There can be no other reason. Hate him more than ever. He better be kept well guarded in public, he deserves filling in at the earliest opportunity.
  10. What struck me about the game at Spurs was that some of our players lost the ball constantly by trying to work it sideways or backwards to Krul. They were incapable of retaining posession even by trying to play negatively. Why then therefore don't we pick the players we have left who would at least give the opposition something to think about while risking posession and who might have created something positive instead of the negative capitulation we witnessed. I would have found a place for the flair of HBA and young Ferguson to start. Spurs only pick these type of players (the funny looking dwarf at full back is a prime example). Instead we sat back from the kick off without enough creative players against a team happy to play short from the back allowing waves of attacks to build in the most comfortable way It really was quite pathetic. At least I was able to enjoy chanting 'Harry Redknapp you should be in jail' for the duration of the game, which turned out to be the highlight of the trip.
  11. When two of your back 4 are not up to it, the other two are going to struggle to cope. I feel sorry for Santon and Colo because of this.

Lucky to get a jury together for this in London Should have held it up North. Then we'd have nailed him.

So it is ok to pay no tax as long as you blatantly place it in an off shore account under your pets name. You couldnt make it up.
  15. Villas Mcleish using him in his post match interview as the standard his players have to copy if their careers are not to just pass them by, was a good recognition of how vital Jonas is.
  16. Time for a rare dose of optimism from me. I have thought we will win this one all season as Spurs are the most Hyped up club in England. Historically they go to pieces for parts of the season and they are due that anytime now. Their managers priority at the moment is trying to save himself from a deserved stretch behind bars. We now have the best keeper in the Premier league while they have an arthritic old man in goal. While Krul & co. keep them out we also now have, out of Africa, the capability to score the requisite number of goals at the other end. 3 points please Mr. Pardew!

    Shola Ameobi

Needs to be used as a last 10 mins player only now against tiring defenders who he has shown he can turn against and get an effective shot off.
  20. He has the body of a four year old, would be my guess. Needs to bulk up. I respectfully suggest you actually watch him play.
  21. What happened to the player who nearly smashed Cabayes leg in two earlier on in the game with the studs up lunge. Did Stubbs even mention it?
  22. Why oh why is this lad not getting a starting berth in our team which is crying out for more confident, creative footballers in possesion of the ball. Unless he is doing a Ranger or Kadar attitude wise it must surely be his time now.

    James Perch

I see very little vitriol towards him tbh, just a general acceptance that he's nowhere good enough at Premier League level, and definitely not at centre half. He certainly doesn't get as much vitriol as some of those you mention or others like Lovenkrands and formerly Guthrie, who get personal abuse on here. We all know Lovenkrands best days are well behind him, Guthrie gave up last year at WBA but has since turned his attitude around big time, hence acceptance. Perch has shown better form but is still not accepted by many. Most unfair IMO
