If that's the case, why haven't a team like them picked him up on the cheap? Two teams have bid pretty big money for him according to those ITK, but he doesn't want to leave. It's a stupid argument anyway when it come from someone who defends Coloccini constantly. Nobody's ever gone near him. Wat?

I do think it is a sideways step. Wasn't long ago that BVB were in a CL final and won their league. Similar clubs, but I do believe Dortmund play the nicer football.

Personally I think managing another team for Ultimate is too much hassle, and I like the concept of the entry money being distributed amongst the winner(s) of the private (Newcastle-Online) league rather than going to whoever wins the overall competition. Loved the World Cup FF competition and its banter. If we can replicate something like that it would be fantastic. Also, it appears with the ultimate version you can make substitutions within a gameweek. Now, I love the Premiership, but I'm not planning on watching (or changing my team before) every single game, like I ended up doing in the WC one..

I can organise. Don't think it has to be dead, people just need to have a team before the round start. We can set up our own league for the ones who've paid any time (at least I think so). The list of interested people is in the OP. Considering the first match is tomorrow, you might want to create a league and PM the league codes before you collect the money. Or the alternative is to have everyone enter in GW2 so you can have more time. I think it would be handy to create a new private league for tracking purposes AND extend the registration and payment period until the start of GW2.

We didn't need to reinvest 35 million to get a replacement for Carroll. We spent zilch and happily went without.

For a team that won't compete and has no desire to, I struggle to see the downside of bringing in a 22 year old striker with a lot of upside, coming off a superb WC performance. If it's the choice between Campbell and Lacazette, I'm taking Lacazette all day. If it's the choice between Campbell and no one, well... It's not a choice between Campbell and no one though. We've already got a few strikers in who may or may not be good enough. Bringing in yet another one makes absolutely no sense, especially as we'd be developing him for Arsenal.
