He's tactically inept unfortunately. Decent bloke, but any manager who’s got a modicum of talent and reading of the game will nullify whatever this “play the best players and hope” approach is from Southgate. Most of the team have been managed by the best in the world. Pep, Poch, Teeth Gnasher, Arteta, Wor Eddie, etc, who are all far superior to Southgate. They still need direction and aren’t getting it from their manager when they’re used to pinpoint instruction from the dugout.

I am with ya, @r0cafella, it’s getting to that middle ground of have’s and have nots. Seemingly impossible task.

Academy rich clubs would prosper in that type of environment until the resources dry up.

Luxury tax that gets divided between lower league clubs. Let the big boys success enrich the football pyramid. Clubs keep their commercial revenue, but player transfers over a certain threshold (anything over say 100 million) gets taxed, along with payroll exceeding a certain amount too.

He and Wissa carried that entire Brentford team. He's quality and would be even better under Eddie and playing in our core group of players would only elevate his ability. We are still working towards cementing ourselves as a top 7 team in the league.
