  1. Liquidation inevitable according to one of their directors. From bbc: Rangers director Dave King fears liquidation is 'inevitable' Rangers director Dave King fears the club will not exit administration and that liquidation is "inevitable". In a statement, King said the club's owner Craig Whyte has "abused the loyalty of fans" by mortgaging future sales of tickets to Ticketus. King also claims that Sir David Murray had no knowledge that proof of funds supplied by Whyte to purchase the club was secured by season ticket sales. More to follow.
  2. I think he plays a bit better with Ryan Taylor behind him than with Santon. Not really sure why though.

If we batter them again the sight of them desperately flapping some carrier bags at us will round things off nicely. In fact I may even feel a bit of pity.
  6. He was not awesome at all IMO. Giving a free central role to someone with little to no end product(see: Jonas) is stupid. Agreed. Also need to play with your head up when in the middle which Jonas does not really do.
  7. When I've seen him I've thought he looked good on the ball and can find a pass as well, also appears to have a hammer of a shot. Unfortunately has also seemed to have the mobility of Alan Smith, and doesn't yet anticipate well enough to make up for it. I'm hopeful that an extended loan spell could be the making of him, will be very interested to see how he does.

I remember thinking during the 5-1 that at 5-0 up v 10 men who were completely shell shocked we should be going for it. Think there was still about 20 mins left after the 5th went in. Sadly had to just settle for 5-1 in the end.
  9. Typical response on RAWK here. Promising first sentence but deteriorates very quickly: http://www.redandwhitekop.com/forum/index.php?topic=286632.280
  10. Hoping for 3 points and no injuries. Very possible they'll have a new manager in place - 5-1 at home to their local rivals and two weeks til the next game. Its also not improbable that it'll be some no-nonsense "motivator" who will have Karl Henry and co fired up and looking to kick lumps out of us to impress the new boss. Never normally give injuries a second thought but the idea of Perch at centre back in the derby entered my head on Feb 1st and is still worrying me. I'll be watching every challenge our centre halfs make with my heart in my mouth during this one.
  11. you could hear "always the victims, its never your fault" being sung during Dalglish's interviewwith Geoff Shreeves, while Dalglish made a big show of being distracted by it. Immediately after it cut back to the studio, where you could see the stadium was completely empty. Unless some Man United supporters had stayed clustered round the tunnel, it must have been from inside the tunnel. Could it have been the Man United players?
  12. Is that 9 penalties we've conceeded this season? Is this close to a record?
  13. Pards knows how to use him If this wasn't the first time he'd used him like that successfully, I'd be inclined to agree. He used him like that away at Stoke and it was probably his best game

    Alan Pardew

Unbelievable that this side is 5th. Phenomenal from Pardew - you would have to be a complete tit to criticise him. 3 subs were spot on today.
  15. Brings to mind the last campaign for "justice" by Liverpool fans - where the "victim" was Michael Shields, the man found guilty in a court of law of attempted murder - a verdict that has never been overturned, and the "liar" was the waiter who suffered brain damage and undeniably, one way or another, had been scarred for life by a Liverpool supporter smashing his head in with a paving slab. That sorry episode was well reported on here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/4197098/Innocent-gentle-giant-Or-remorseless-thug-guilty-of-attempted-murder.html The "Free Michael" campaign was supported by Carra, the Kop, Rafa - all hitting the same tone as the Suarez campaign, even though Shields' innocence is still far from certain and he remains guilty in the eyes of Bulgarian law. Journalist Carole Malone commented "I'm sorry, but this whole thing strinks of subterfuge, incompetence and political wheeler-dealing." and the above article suggests this is accurate. I find it astonishing that the "Justice for scumbag" campaign has managed to hit the same unsavoury heights twice in recent times, and has twice received the seemingly unconditional backing of both club officials and supporters. It reflects poorly on the "Justice for the 96" campaigners who I do feel have a real grievance and an objective worth pursuing in getting all information about the disaster released. Unfortunately for them, they will always be tainted by the "always the victims, never your fault" jibes. But its not hard to see why those taunts are aimed at what appears to be in many ways, an utterly repulsive football club.
  16. Could actually happen. If they insist on an Englishman it would surely be between Pardew, Hodgson, and Allardyce. Unless they did something daft like appoint Pearce or bring back Hoddle then I can't see who else would be in the frame. Steve Bruce?
  17. There is a thread on RAWK entitled "An Open Letter To The Media And Those Using Our Club As Political Capital." It consists of an OP of thousands of words of total s**** about Suarez and conspiracies, followed by about 100 posts congratulating the OP on a fantastic post. On the 4th page however there is this quite amusing post:
  18. Brief, not particularly special, article on famous shirts in football here from 2008: http://www.football365.com/news/8750/3882633 Includes Liverpool and Man U number 7 and Newcastle number 9

    Who can go?

Smith, Lovenkrands, Harper, Kadar all have their contracts up at the end of this season. .COM says Harper has another year after this summer but I'm sure that this season is actually his last. Can't see Xisco or Ranger ever playing for us again. Perch should go to the championship.
  20. Tiote Cabaye Jonas Ben Arfa Ba Cisse Think nearly everyone would like to see a front six looking a bit like that, I would anyway. It could end up a bit too narrow. Could end up with the League's second top scorer finding himself out wide far too often while our new number 9 struggles to bed himself in. Or it could be absolutely lethal. I think Pardew will be able to make it work. When Tiote, Ba, and Cisse get back from the ACON there will be about 2-3 weeks and a game v Wolves to get it together before the derby. Would love to see those 6 absolutely tear into Sunderland.

    Papiss Cissé

medical done according to .COM: Update: Cisse medical has taken place on Tyneside today and Sky Sports News showed footage of the player at United's Darsley Park training ground. Initial reports of a £10m fee gave way to one in the region of £7.5m-£8m plus the inevitable add-ons. As to whether there's a release clause, we'll have to wait for the next Tottenham press conference to find that out... Confirmation of Cisse's capture is expected imminently, along with the announcement of his five year contract.
  22. Krul Simpson Williamson Coloccini Santon Obertan Guthrie Cabaye Jonas Ben Arfa Best Subs: Elliot, Ferguson, Shola, R Taylor, Perch, Gosling, Abeid. Only other realistic options available are Harper, Vuckic, and Lovenkrands (and Smith of course). None made the bench at the weekend. Interesting that Ferguson was on the bench at the weekend after coming back from injury - would be good to see him get some time on the pitch soon.
  23. Think we are being used to flush out interest from other clubs.
  24. Ryan Taylor in the Blackburn programme talking about playing right wing v Man United: Let me tell you it's tougher! It really is, because you've got to be in the box when crosses are coming in from the other side, and you've got to put crosses in too. Then you've got to track back as well, and with the likes of Evra, Giggs, Park and Rooney coming on the left-hand side you know that if you don't do your job then they capitalise on that. It was tough on the legs but I was happy to be there and delighted to play a part in the win." Obviously we may have a completely different approach to the likes of Blackburn and QPR when compared to Man United, but I can well believe Ben Arfa may not be up for putting in that sort of a shift. Although I do really want to see him on the wing tomorrow.
