  1. Ooo, tempted by the barcode one, such a great shirt. Will have to see it in the flesh first; can live without the manufacturer logo tbh. Edit; on closer inspection, probably not. No white line around the star for some reason and the badge appears to be printed on rather than flock. Never mind!
  2. Fuuuucking hell. They better be throwing the baby kangaroo in for nowt if that's the price.

Algeria - Bentaleb That's the first alphabetically... Argentina next.
  6. Loving @LiquidAK's spice these days.
  7. Never ceases to amaze me, the attendances at non-league grounds. 1000+ at basically every FA Cup qualifier yesterday, including at teams as low as the eighth tier. Helped by the international break no doubt, but still.
  8. I think he got a pretty decent tune out of ASM, didn't he, despite him clearly not really fitting into his vision? They're different players anyway. HBA had four or five times the talent that Maxi did.
  9. Carlisle, York, South Shields, Spennymoor, Gateshead all progress to FA Cup R1.

I enjoyed Tuchel making the point because it was about Wembley dwellers who probably don't support Newcastle and therefore I hate them (and also because, more seriously, it makes the argument for taking the England team to stadiums around the country). However, can you really blame a crowd, probably full of kids, for being subdued when watching a dead rubber contest that was over within a few minutes?

Fair play to Taylor for speaking out publicly. Need all the refs to lobby against the current application of VAR.
  12. My emotions towards him have never really changed; through the saga and to now. It's just sadness, jilted-ness and disappointment rather than hate. And I find his apparent emotionlessness a bit odd, despite my understanding of footballers' motivations. He disrespected the club right at the very end of his time here but prior to that he was an incredible striker and a massive part of the best team in my lifetime. It's not really what you want to hear but the players being somewhat unmoved by it all does discharge the need to hate a wee bit. Appreciate this might sound a bit contrarian; I wouldn't knock anyone for hating his guts. He's just, for me, got a lot more credit in the bank than the likes of Owen for instance.
  13. In the balance for them seemingly. In all likelihood will finish second to Senegal in their group; and not presently in the four best second placed teams, who compete in a play-off.
  14. Looking like at least a couple of surprises from the African qualifiers. Cape Verde and Benin currently leading groups; Gabon, Burkina Faso and Madagascar(!) all in line for a play-off match.

Gordon absolutely rinsing Williams two games on the bounce

What a goal Fantastic from Gordon in the build up. Twatterface reckons that goal was better then the three-incher from Watkins. Brave shout.

Quality from Guehi. He's a great player like, no doubt about it.

Trying to think if I've seen us convert a more unusual penalty than that. Such an odd (but brilliant) technique. Rolled his ankle like Beckham taking a free-kick.

Longstaff is (unsurprisingly imo) thriving in that Leeds team. He ran the show against Bournemouth but all accounts; goal, assist, loads of tackles, covered every blade of grass. He was a pain in the arse against us too. Injured his replacement. It's always been the case that if he started as near to 38 games as possible he'd be an asset for most sides; including us. Play him as an impact sub or a bit-part player and he's next to useless, because he's every inch a confidence player and needs at least 90 continuous minutes to get sharp.
  20. I think he's adding a few quid to his value every time he plays atm, plus we need that cover given all the games. Sell in the summer for daft money imo.
