Yeah. Joelinton hasn't been great this season so don't want to do the cliche thing and overegg a missing player, but we do miss his physicality a lot of the time. He was excellent here last season too. Or the season before maybe, can't remember which.

Two teams prepared to play on the break is making for a fairly tepid affair with no one really taking the initiative. Very dull game. We're obviously going to lose, just hope we keep the score down.

Trippier's weaknesses rear their head with increasing regularity these days but across a 38 game season I think he'd still give you a lot back. In fact I think that's probably what he needs at this stage in his career: to be undisputed first choice, and where his limitations are mitigated by structure and other personnel. Come the summer I think his race here is very much run, but I love that he can still gives us performances like the Arsenal one. Unless Tino improves dramatically between now and then, I'd be starting Tripps in the final. C.

Wonder what the general feeling about the game is now everyone has had a chance to decompress. It's such a big win. Hopefully that's all we'll remember and the second half performance becomes just a footnote. "Oh yeah wasn't that the game when we were weirdly shite in the second half? Now, where is the Bernabeu from here?"
