  1. You'd rather us stick with Gooch, than bring in a competent and proven centre-back?
  2. Forget that! Zoggy's a centre-midfielder didn't you know.
  3. We're not in a position to pay squad players in excess of £50k a week, though. He'll play more than you think, tbh. Our injury disasters aren't going to magically disappear, and Dyer is the sort of person who can come in and 'do a job' in more than one position. Plus, he's generally a decent player to have in any squad, for a club with the (realistic) aims that we have. Also, we've been paying him £50k a week to do ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING for ages. And that can't have bothered Shepherd, et al, too much.
  4. Scholes has lost a lot of his versatility, tbh, KingD.
  5. Would have had McCarthy in there over Berbatov personally, but there's not an awful lot to argue with. Don't hate him just because he plays for Spurs. The guy is fucking class, definitely edging Martins at this point. Oba still has more potential, though.
  6. Definitely not as good as he once was/could have been, but if we want a good squad (note squad, not team), then we want to be hanging onto the likes of Dyer. EDIT: However, at the right price - it's more than likely to be good business. But if it's any less than £4/5m, then it's not worth it in my opinion.
  7. Sean Penn. http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/570/seanpennwh8.jpg
  8. Lee, was it not? There - we're even.
  9. Aye, Venison scored that goal when we beat them 3-1. Andy Townsend scored for them.
  10. Accurate assessment tbh. Though i would have had Paul Robinson in over James.
  11. It'd be funny if we were Chelsea.
  12. Good job ruining the thread. Newcastle Fan's mere presence often does crucify threads, but i can't see how on this occassion? You have to admire Oba's commitment. It's fantastic. Especially when you consider his background; he's come from Inter Milan, constant title chasers and regulars in the Champions League. To go from that to our shithole of team. Also, the city of Milan is a stark contrast to Newcastle, it's a bit different... i've been to both. And since he has got here, he has said nothing but positive things about the club and the area. Love him to bits me, like.
  13. Aye, just heard it for the first time on Match of the Day 2. Christ - she was forcing that. It just didn't sound right, tbh. I thought it wouldn't make any difference whether it was a male or female voice, regardless of the quality of the commentating, but it just did. No ta.
  14. Crazy, isn't it. You can finish 6th and still qualify for the Champions League. Madness!
  15. A 22-year-old, inexperienced player being played effectively out of position without a consistent/good partner, whose goals have basically saved us from relegation, clearly not enough for some people.
  16. There shouldn't be. But this is Roeder.

BTW, i can't for the life of me remember the last cross he put on one of our strikers' heads. But then i don't go to matches...

The truth. I don't particularly like him, and i've slated him this season, however i've never thought him to be this abysmal waster that the majority have. Like i said, he's steady, and he'll put in the odd decent shift. That's what he's done since he's come back down the left, but in adequate shifts. But his genuine lack of ability just holds us back, that's all. Don't agree. I think naturally he's got all the ability to be a good RB. He can pass, cross and tackle. The thing that lets him down is his fitness. He's a fat cunt. And his performance range from good (Today) to the awful (Fulham away). So he's anything but steady IMO. He's capable of the odd good performance, never spectacular, and is capable of the odd bad performance. Just like every single player in football. On the whole, i reckon he's steady. And it's more than just fitness. He's generally just slow and his passing is erratic as fuck. Strong in the tackle, aye, but it hardly equates to much when he's miles out of position throwing in some sliding tackle in the middle of the box as a last resort. Like i say, i reckon he's steady - but his lack of ability just holds us back.
