The truth. I can't say i'd get too excited if i was watching him and the winger interchanging on the edge of the box, cutting in, like i was when we had Bernard. I don't particularly like him, and i've slated him this season, however i've never thought him to be this abysmal waster that the majority have. Like i said, he's steady, and he'll put in the odd decent shift. That's what he's done since he's come back down the left, put in adequate shifts. But his genuine lack of ability just holds us back, that's all.

It's a tough question. I reckon Parker's a decent player, but i reckon he holds us back. He's a decent player - but it's just a case of finding him a role and fitting him in. He doesn't have a role, that's the thing. I think he's more likely to become an attacking centre-mid, rather than a defensive one, personally. But at the moment he's neither. I honestly don't believe he has either the vision or the passing range to make it as an effective defensive midfielder. He has the tackling ability, yes, but the huffing and puffing that we see week-in week-out isn't enough to qualify him as someone who'll perform infront of the back four effectively. (HTL-mode deactivated) He's more likely to turn himself into an attacking player i reckon, because he's good at the arriving-late-in-the-box business, and that lark. The thing is, for me - Emre excels when he doesn't play with Parker. And i think Emre is the better player, so that's what's important. It's getting the best out of the best players that is the key to success, surely?

He wouldn't have played anyway tbh. Unless as a centre-midfield, which Roeder is pitifully trying to convert him into.

wy disappointed, our best left sided midfielder this season played there and played well. Because the brightest young talent we've had in absolutely donkeys years is effectively finished here now. he was a bright young talent lastv season, this season he has been picked (like duff) on his past rather than current form, duff has been marginally better in my view, milner has been streets ahead of both when on the left. Wouldn't disagree with any of that, it's completely spot on. But N'Zogbia was absolutely fantastic last season. And this season, Roeder's killed him. In my opinion, anyway.

Didn't see the game, it's a good point - without a doubt. Disappointed N'Zogbia didn't even get a look in. But i think any hope to do with him now is effectively false.

He's written down under the 'August 31st' subtitle.

Aye. Van der Sar Friedel Schwarzer James Nigel Martyn ... to name a tiny percentage of Premiership keepers.

i think they lost the plot.... by losing their leadership... clearly selling of viera suffer them now Gawd. Have the crazy pills been scattered since about half 1?
-
It is true though, really. In many cases - keepers are playing at their best when they're 32/33.

Now i'm convinced! I didn't realise you'd been saying all along! Well there ya go.
-
Either way, fucking bargain!

Yup. Sell Given, man? Jesus Christ! So many reasons not to, i'm not even going to waste my team listing them.
-
I'd be gutted if he ended up at Spurs.

You must really hate Baba, then.

Harper gives me the shits, man. Sorry mate, i can contemplate the rest of what you've said in this thread - but preferring Srnicek over Harper, (seemingly) on ability alone, is just crazy!

No. It won't. Never ceases to amaze that people bang on about Parker as a defensive midfielder when he has no attributes of a quality defensive midfielder. There is more to it than effort and sweat. Tbh. Parker's more likely to devlop/adapt* into an attacking centre-mid than he is a defensive midfielder. However he'll do neither under the coaching set up we've got at the moment. *Adapt from whatever the hell he actually is at the moment.

Makes sense in theory, HTL, it does. However - the centre-back prospect of Bramble and Moore just frightens me in all honesty. Moore was utter dross against Portsmouth, and we all know what Bramble's like. And a Drogba-Bramble 'battle' makes me piss myself really, with laughter. Also, with Nobby, Souness tried that and it didn't work. However, like i say, the side works in theory. And if Chelsea play with two strikers, they'll play narrow, and we'd counteract that - on paper anyhow. And to be fair, Luque made his trade at Deportivo on the left side of a 4-3-3, so you're right there... What's with Pav in goal, though?

People STILL going for Parker/Emre in the middle are the one's that need to be shot. Still beyond me is that one.

I tell you what, after all this, i'll be pretty miffed if he doesn't end up here.
