  1. Name another that is not Giggs/Ronaldo, based on last season's form, that were better than Bentley/Gamst Why only last season? Was that when the PL was formed or something? Ah ok, i suppose we might aswell throw Gillespie and Ginola into the mix, then. So him saying they are the second best combo in the Prem and then asking me to name a better pair of wingers other than Giggs/Ronaldo only going from last seasons apperances makes sense to you? Ok! Erm, well yeah! This thread isn't based on all-time Premiership stats, it's on about the present, like he says.

  3. Barton has got plenty of goals and assists through the years tbh; plus he's still young and could really kick off in a good side. You have to remember that he's been playing in one of the Premiership's ultimate 'also-rans' all through his career.

    Want Diouf?

Think it's been fairly widely mentioned that Diouf is hardly a Joey Barton type character off the pitch. Scum on it like.
  5. It's got a good case tbh. Unfortunately, neither of them are consistent.

    Kanoute

Or, on the other hand: Ameobi isn't shit. He's a steady yet unspectacular centre-forward who'll get you the odd goals and on the whole do a decent job when called upon, and a fecking decent option for fourth choice. Owen and Martins might click, but then we'll be playing 4-3-3 anyway and one of them might be dropped/they could work like that anyway. No one will buy Owen at the moment and Martins is currently developing, another 17 goals from him would be fine with me. As Baggio said, the striking line-up we've got at the moment is arguably the best in the Premiership, atleast for the short term.

    Want Diouf?

I'd really love to see us get Baines. Would just love to see him develop under Big Sam.
  8. Without the shite Umbro format, it'd be a nice kit. I've seen far worse tbh. I don't like the white bits on the shoulders though. How much better would this kit look without the Umbro badge higher than the collar bone, and without two diamonds on the shoulder? Just what the hell sort of design is it? It's shit.

    Want Diouf?

Re-create Bolton. Aye, we're signing one of their best players. OMG WOD IS SAM DUIN WER JUST BOLTUN DA SECUND!!!1! Don't think we need another attacker, but if he came i wouldn't complain too much.

Michael Owen, Mark Viduka, Obafemi Martins, Shola Ameobi and Andy Carroll clearly not enough for some people. Baring in mind that we'll probably be playing a 4-3-3, so you can throw Milner/Duff into that list of names aswell. If we go out and buy another striker now, presuming no one leaves, we're fucking loonies.
  13. We probably can anyway. Regardless of the transfer budget, £10m for SWP is £4/5m too much. You'd hope that with Allardyce, we'd step a side from the inflated fees business.

    Kanoute

when did he say that ? He's said on countless occasions since signing Viduka, that defenders are now the priority. Which is absolutely true. I can't see him signing another striker before he brings in someone for the backline, if at all.

    Kanoute

Even if he was going to leave, why the hell would he be replaced with Fredi Kanoute? Not writing it off especially (doesn't seem to be much in it, granted), but i honestly wouldn't understand it.

    David Rozehnal

    Rozenhal or Rozehnal?

    Kanoute

I like Kanoute, reckon he's a good player. But £7m is a lot of money for someone we don't need, and for someone who will turn 30 at some point next season. He didn't set England alight, either. There'd be him, Viduka and Shola... what would be the point? We're covered in the striking department. He's performed very well because it's a league he's very comfortable with - there's no guarantee he'd continue the form in England. It'd be a needless gamble for me, for too much money*. *Exact phrase i'd use for a SWP purchase aswell.
  19. Can you really not bring on a keeper for an outfield player? Even in extreme shortages? Seems harsh. Obviously they wouldn't both be able to use their hands like. Aye, James did at City like Greg mentioned. He wasn't brought on as a goalkeeper though.
  20. Umbro kits are destroying football.
  21. The rules state that you're only allowed to have one goalkeeper per team.
  22. How good is this Gilardino fella?
  23. *Paddies* EDIT: Oh and, calm down you great stressy bessy. Was just a suggestion.
