the point is if Chelsea are going £65k, then Ben Haim is not worth it, and i stand by that, and it would work out cheaper to sign Davies Like i said, we won't go for him if that's what he's asking. We're not that daft.
-
I'd do a lot for £300,000 that was rightfully mine.
-
We won't Ben Haim him if we're going to have to pay £65k for him. And with Davies, he's hardly going to accept a fee that is less than the likes of Babayaro and Butt. This is a more accurate prediction i would have thought: Davies: Fee: £8m Signing on fee: £500k Wages: £35k-a-week minimum. 5 years: £9.1m Total: £17.6m Ben Haim Fee: £0 Signing on fee: £2m Wages: £40k-a-week. 5 years: £10.4m Total: £12.4m

Do you really think he is going to give a shit about what the papers say about him, when his bank account could bloat even more so, with £300,000 being added to it? Hardly like this little saga compares to the shit he's been through with the press and various supporters in earlier phases of his career.

Aye, and you'd have to pay about £8m, plus a signing on fee, plus wages for Davies. And £25k, you must be having a laugh. Signing Ben Haim would be more beneficial both from a financial aspect and a footballing aspect.

What's with the poses? I like the collars. I hope Nike make ours from the same template.

Aye, that one's been on, Brummie. I really like it n'all.

£4.32p Rip off. You can get a Twix for that at Wembley.

Dunno why we need to play Carlisle at SJP, surely just play them at Brunton and let them keep the receipts, no other prem teams ever play shit lower league teams at home do they? Why does it matter? A football match needs a pitch to be played on. Good for some of the young lads who'll inevitably play in what is a low-key fixture, get a bit of experience on the 'big stage'. Aye not much, but it's beneficial to em.

I didnt see the game. Where did he play? Left or right? He's far more effective when played on the right. Massively so. We started with Milner and Young playing off Nugent. Milner was on the right, Young on the left. Then he moved to the main left-wing. Where he went invisible. So am i right in thinking he's not really effective when deployed down the left, Brummie? Suppose that shows that Pearce hasn't reviewed his squad properly. If he had of, he would know that Milner was very effective down the left whenever he played there for us last season, and Young is far better on the right. Yet he's got them the other way round. The rare quality that we've got in our squad could simply save him from his shoddy management.

I would really like to see him in the middle of the park when we play the so called lesser teams. I am of the opinion now that the best way to beat these teams is to pass the ball round the park & to do this you need your best passers in the middle. Battlers in the middle like Butt & Parker meant we got sucked into battles, rather than trying to dictate the play. Nobby's long ball play is absolutely sublime... you aree guaranteed a peach of a pass atleast once a game. However, he lost his short, quick play last season - which was why he wasn't really much good as a winger last season. Don't think he'd work in a central role. Plus, when Souness moved him into a narrow position, he was naff.

Baines. Really think he'll mature into a good player. And Milner, he looks a good prospect n'all.

Great news and fantastic news. Love Nobby to pieces. Been supporting the club since 1996ish so Solano is possibly my all-time favourite player after Shearer. Quality guy, surely the cleverest midfield player we've had while being in the Premiership? Another year, and he'll still be a major player in the squad.
-
Can't see him playing 4-4-2.
-
Why... cos he's Spanish?
-
Defoe had a class season goalscoring-wise, though.

Why do people on here still think Jenas is shit btw? I couldn't stand him here, he was absolutely God awful, and i was loving it when we sold him for £7/8/9m or whatever the hell it was. But is there really any mistaking that he's a key player for Spurs?
-
Not a chance. And i wouldn't be bothered. Let some other club worry about making him work in this league, while paying the gargantuan wages that he'll need. We've got enough strikers, all of whom we should look to hang onto.

http://football.guardian.co.uk/rumourmill/index/0,,2101018,00.html I have always had a major regard for Danny Murphy and cannot for the life of me understand why Spurs do not use him. Cos he's always injured? Plus, he's past it. I'd rather have Speed.

If there is a £5m price tag on Baines, we should fecking just go for it, as soon as possible.
