Completely agree with that, with the ball at his feet - little touches, etc - he's good. But so's Viduka - but better in many other aspects.

Now you're moving away from what we quaintly call reality. What was unrealistic about what i said?

Kanu's just been a fluke imo. And - completely truthfull speaking - he's not got a touch on the quality Viduka possesses.

And to balance things out, we should really just not bother renewing Sibi's contract and just get Viduka. That'd be a whole better situation. Not only money-wise, but going on how much Sibierski has deteriorated this season, i dread to think what he'll be like - while inevitably being in the team due to injuries - this time next year.

Fair enough. But. / Viduka is an experienced head, without being past it. / He is a presence in the box. / He'd work well with both Martins and Owen. / He would be first class cover. / He will absolutely guarantee you goals. / He is strong and superb with his back to goal, bringing players into play. We've missed that crucial aspect, which became part and parcel of our game when a certain Mr Shearer was around. / And, no matter which way you look at it, he's a cheaper option because we won't have to pay anyone for him. Too good an opportunity to miss in my opinion. We have long term strikers in Martins and Owen, and - no matter how much some of you hate it - Shola aswell. So Viduka being a 'stopgap' for a couple of years, is no harm at all.

    Fratton Park

Who else tried to spell Fratton backwards, before they did it with Park?

Shola and Owen would both be back, aswell as Martins - Viduka would just be cover/on the brink of the first team. No harm having experienced 'stopgaps' who'd always do you a decent job, for that sort of role. Aye, he'd cost a lot wages wise - but then so would a Crouch or a Bent or a Babel. All of whom would cost £8-10m initially on top of all that.

he wouldn't be free you tit. How much do you think he is demanding in wages for, wait for it, scoring goals as a striker, as dan b puts it? and you really think having that fat wanker around will improve squad morale? no more fucking stopgaps, and no more eejits saying 'if you don't want to sign XXX because he is free you must be mad' honeslty, with your record on match threads, it's a wonder you have the balls to post any football opinions 8)

Anyone who wouldn't take him in our situation, and with him being on a free, would be critically insane.
  10. Aye they do on that kit - cos there's loads of white on the shirt. Poxy, shitty, gay gold numbers just makes it look sick, though.
  11. Roeder loves him, but what happens if/when Roeder leaves this summer? Howay then smartarse, what's funny? People need to get it into their head that Roeder is NOT going to get sacked!
  12. Roeder loves him, but what happens if/when Roeder leaves this summer?
  13. I would be welling to bet several million pounds that Parker will be at Newcastle in the summer. Roeder loves him and Parker will be happy enough.
  14. Yes. Because that is what the articles have said.
  15. Realistic outs, and you write Parker. Cuckoo!
  16. Hmm i dunno... Would Big Sam reject us a second time? He might be a bit more tempted if we come in for him once again, offer him the typical big wages and ask him to take it or leave it. Suppose it is fairly unlikely, but personally, i think he's gone as far as he can with Bolton. And that's not degrading his managerial credentials, it's just that it's Bolton. I'd love to see what Sam could do at a club like ours - with cash to spend.
  17. Christ. Bale? Baines? Nah - Bulut please, Fred.
  18. Aye there was a rumour he had signed a pre-contract but I am quite sure the previous/following week the same source had a rumour linking him somewhere else. Fairly sure it was just some retard 'ITK' on here wasn't it?
  19. Robbie Keane looks like he's gonna smack something.
  20. Two goal advantage... You mean make sure like we made sure?
  21. Come the fuck on, Sevilla. I think these guys, the fact that they're playing Spurs aside, are one of those teams that you can just enjoy watching. Really hope they get going properly.
  22. I'm really eager to see what Carroll is like to be honest! I don't watch the reserves or the academy guys, but as far as the stats go, Carroll's managed to do it at both levels, and do it incredibly well. He's a big tall lad aswell, and although i reckon he could do with beefing up a bit (he looks a bit lightweight to me), he looks to have the majority of the physical traits to make it as a centre-forward in this league. And, going merely off what people on here have said about him, he evidently has the required attributes; good headerer, great strike, etc. Of course, i cannot give an accurate assessment - but he certainly sounds promising. I honestly don't see any harm in giving him a start, at St James', towards the end of the season. Once we inevitably lose a couple more games, and hopefully win a couple more, retaining our mediocre, non-threatened status this season - there'd be absolutely no harm in chucking him in alongside Oba for a game. Optimistic!
