You do realise we're currently paying Luque £40k a week for doing absolutely nothing, don't you? And that, as it stands, we will continue to do so next season? Carroll will get plenty of opportunities in the future (although i would actually them both), Luque must play now with the faint hope he'll actually put in some half decent performances and convince a team to pay some of his wages next season. Do you think some club is going to magically appear offering a man who has not played 90 minutes back-to-back for 2 years £40k a week? Not to mention Luque is by far the superior player. If that's the case, Luque should have played every minute since he scored 2 belters against the bin dippers. Might as well see what Luque does in these remaining matches. Could be his last few for the club. What's the bloody point then!? If he's off in the summer, what's the point in playing him - and watching him have even less desire to play for us than he has done in the past, knowing that he's going to leave? Even if he does play well - why bother if he's going to leave? We've known for two years now what Luque is all about. He's not good enough, he's not for Newcastle and he never was. Andy Carroll on the other hand, is desperate to play for us, and might just have a future with us!

Pedersen and Bentley's a good shout - and i've got no better suggestions - but Pedersen's touch and go for the majority of the time, really. He's fairly inconsisent. Think it was Rob who mentioned Reading... agreed. Don't think it's the individual wingers that do it for them though - it's just the system that they've used. They're counter-attacking play is superb for the majority of the time.

What could anyone? You need goalkeeping coaches, and for all any of us know Pav could be up there with the best. Given has been one of the best two or three goalkeepers in the Premier League for about the past 5 years, and Harper (granted he's not as good as he used to be), has been one of the best understudies and still puts in a more than decent shift when called upon. History tells us that the sentimental garbage that we put upon ourselves doesn't work. Clark, MacDermott, Roeder. I say we stick with the current goalkeeper coaching set-up.

What can Pav teach Given that Given doesn't already know?
