I thought we started quite well, looking- on the whole - a lot more like a functioning team, creating openings and pressing more effectively. It became less and less fun to watch over the course of the half but we're being patient and are in control. Left side of the pitch still just all over the place.

Hoping to have my enthusiasm boosted today. I've enjoyed being back into England since Southgate got the job but it's waned badly this tournament. It's not just because of how hideously we've played, but through general football fatigue and the Newcastle distractions over the last week or so. There's an incredible chance for us here but we'll have to step up, because we're playing a good side that has every chance of doing something special themselves. Craving a good game and an inspirational performance.
