Could be right.

Blimey. Guess we've another season of crossing everything that Pope stays fit.
-
That's the only time I bother, on the whole. Just want to continue reveling in the joy of a Newcastle win.

Ah so this was a new accounting year signing, meaning no impact on the PSR wrangle just passed. Suppose that should've been obvious.

I don't think that's fair or true but I'd be on a hiding to nothing getting into that debate today. I agree that he was lucky yesterday but if the strategy is to keep it tight and hope our gifted players nick just enough goals - and that gets us to another final - then I don't really see how you can argue. Like it or not, that approach can get you pretty far in an international tournament. But there's no getting away from the fact that, yesterday, we were seconds away from our second most humiliating defeat in Euros history. To have two shots on target in the space of two minutes, post-90, and have two goals to our name, is incredibly lucky. I fail to see how we get past much stronger teams with literally no attacking gameplan.

True Faith is bedwettery of the highest order, like. They lurched from "Champions League contenders!" to midtable misery every other week last season. Just so reactionary to everything; some of them are incapable of seeing the bigger picture. One of the absolute melts on there the other week started his summary of Eddie Howe (without a hint of irony) with "We don't work for him, he works for us." Imagine going on like that.

Glad it's finally over. The Minteh thing demonstrates his value to an operation but he's clearly got zero loyalty, so have no sadness about it. I don't fear Man Utd; they're a long, long way off being a slick outfit off the pitch and with characters like Ratcliffe front and centre (which he always will be, regardless of who they employ in key positions), I'm doubtful they'll ever be.

Very curious and a bit nervous about what he makes of the last few days. I'm optimistic that he understands the situation well enough to accept the Anderson sale, but not sure what he'll reckon to having a player he doesn't want thrown into his squad. Again hopefully he's accepting of it cos we needed to replace Karius, who was obviously shite anyway.

I think Micah Richards probably nailed it on the latest Rest Is Football. The objective is to be tight defensively and rely entirely on moments from the world class quality. Ergo there's a total lack of any meaningful gameplan going forward, exacerbated by every single opponent sticking everything behind the ball. It seems like an incredibly high risk strategy and it nearly did us yesterday. Surely not sustainable.

Are our shirts gonna be this horrifically sweaty?

The ITV analysis here has been good, like. Credit to them for finding a way but, fuck, they need to sort themselves the fuck out.
-
Even that shot from Toney was fucking brainless. Just keep the ball and see the game out. Such a shit team.

Can't help but like Gallagher. Do think we'd love him at Newcastle.
-
I don't think he has like. Not defending him. We drop back like this cos we have no semblance of an attacking gameplan.
-
mind there was a part of me that just wanted to enjoy the rest of the tournament

Great post, son.

Absolutely

"Considering winning"

So fucking deep. Again don't think it's a deliberate tactic, they're just terrified.
