  1. if that's a glimpse of how he plays when he has clarity of thought then I'm looking forward to August. All the best, Sandro, son. See you next season.
  2. Pope - 7 Trippier - 6 Lascelles - 6 Schar - 7 Burn - 6 Longstaff - 5 Bruno - 7 Joelinton - 5 Almiron - 6 Wilson - 6 Gordon - 8 Shut Trippier down and you shut NUFC down. Hats off to Dortmund, tactically they absolutely nailed that and defended brilliantly.
  3. The opposition have provided quite the lesson in counter-attacking football, like. They've massively limited the space we've got to work in, meanwhile they've found space when in possession with total ease. Cage our playmakers, limit the ability to build passing moves, belt into space in numbers on the counter. Work cut out to turn it around. We'll have to find something more than the 'Miggy Fulham goal' move.
  4. Credit to Dortmund so far. Tactically and physically they've matched us and prevented us from getting into a rhythm really efficiently. Not out of it by any means but a point is starting to sound very good.
  5. Hmm. Feels like they've got our number here.
  6. Dortmund have been brilliant off the ball.
  7. TNT presenters going on about how loud the atmosphere is when in reality it's just David Bowie playing at the customary earsplitting volume.
  8. Can't wait to get stuck into that.
  9. For some reason wor lass and I stuck on the 'Say Cheese and Die' episode a few weeks back, only to find a young Ryan Gosling in the lead role.

  11. I've caught Galatasaray on TNT a few times now and it always seems to be entertaining.
  12. I know it's obviously still pie in the sky, but I'd be lying if I said I hadn't - in all earnest - contemplated/pictured us actually winning the Champions League. I mean we did just batter PSG. Imagine that was what ended the trophy drought.
  13. Fair enough re us not knowing the facts, the temptation to jump to conclusions is just too great. My post was based on the assumption that he's made bets like you or I would, rather affect the integrity of the sport/deliberately under-performed/whatever. I went on to say that there's absolutely no indication of anything truly malevolent having happened; I think we'd have known about it by now given what else has emerged from the case.
  14. For him to be available from August feels like a reasonable result when the maximum was up to three years. I still think it's overboard though, given the victimless nature of the offence. But to ban him from training is an utterly draconian, overzealous and regressive way to deal with the situation, and I'd say that even if he didn't have an addiction. If there's any proof that he's actually used his privileged position to game the system - at the expense of the sport's integrity - then fine. But I see absolutely no indication that that has actually happened and therefore the punishment far, far outweighs the crime. Not to mention the other point that everyone rightly makes about the sport's hypocritical position re gambling culture.
  15. Oh, btw, just so it's recorded forever more... We all happy to agree that @El Prontonise's kit faux pas (wore a Barcelona shirt to a Reds vs Blues game) has finally been surpassed by that bloody disgrace @KDT? Wore a grey hoody while representing the Blue team against Whites and Blacks. At least he was forced to adorn the bib of shame I guess.
