Mowbray is number one for BBC (FA Cup finals/England games). The BBC's suite of comms is generally spot on. Mowbray, Steve Wilson, Steve Bower, Simon Brotherton, Conor McNamara, John Roder, Alistair Mann - all excellent. Can understand why people might not like Jonathan Pearce but his is still a pretty iconic voice. I'd have every single one in a heartbeat ahead of Matterface and Drury.

West Ham surely aren't as bad at their table position suggests? They've got an awful lot of quality in that squad. I'm not expecting a walkover here in the slightest. Dearly hope we ram home the idea that we've turned a corner and deliver a great performance.

I'll admit that I thought Drury was a good appointment to that role because he's the antithesis of later-years Tyler in terms of energy and enthusiasm. I can't knock his love for the game because that's exactly what you need in that position. But yeah, the flowery word salad is horrendous, just so unnecessary.

Do you reckon we've ever had any concrete offers? The was some noise about Chelsea () this time last year but I honestly find it so doubtful that anyone would offer meaningful cash for him. There might have been interest in the summer post-22/23 but he'd gone most of that season without injury and was our top scorer. I think it would be harsh to throw any dirt at us for deciding to keep him at that point.
