He's saying the stats show that Pards isn't as bad as we make out he is. I'm saying we can surely dig a little deeper than JUST that "He's shit" Pardew is still pummelled for favouring hoof ball. Despite us generally not actually resorting to it until late on in games. I say that's the poorer players last line of defence. Not Pardews "vision". Even if you think we have played hoofball all game every game, I think that's become less valid as the season has worn on. We are MUCH less reliant upon it. But complaints about it have kept rising because lazy people criticise our perceived problems rather than the actual ones. History shows us that stats supporting a largely minority view are routinely disregarded.

It's all he should be doing as far as I'm concerned.

So adjusting for that might change Arsenal's ranking. It might not and even if it did, with Arsenal above us it wouldn't change ours so whilst interesting its irrelevant. You'll have to do the playing style of all 20 teams and justify in principle why the relationship differs for each one before we'd want to test how much the ranking changes. Which leaves us with a valid statistic until you do. As i said yesterday, us not creating chances isn't the issue for me and i think the stats posted very much support that. I also agree we look shit for long periods and Pardew has been v poor this season. The general shitness is the elephant in the room. IMO Ba and Hatem's devil may care brilliance covered over a lot of cracks last year, which have become abundantly clearer as time has gone on without those two. The other thing is that it's either Cisse doesn't get enought service (style or tactical issue) or his finishing is very hit and miss...I also became aware that the new players would need time to gel after the first couple of honeymoon games.

Decent player...Nice Zaha goal. Good game.

I'm on record calling Pardew a c***. We were relegation bait before Pardew and we will be after though. Ashley is the common denominator. Ashley is a tool granted, but after the biggest spend of any team in the January window, he can hardly take any blame for the appalling showing since then. You can always gauge how good a Manager is when the chips are down. It's about how they react to improve in areas you're struggling in. Lets look at some of the issues. Passing is still f***ing shocking overall. Corners are, well I think we all know. Movement off the ball is still too static and easy to read. Lack of pressure on the ball. I could go on, but as not one of those areas have improved over the course of the season, I think it pretty much spells out he's not the right man for the job. We have improved since the window closed and the show hasn't been so appalling since then. We're 10th in the table on games since the window closed. It was the awful run before the window that f***ed our season. Have you actually watched us play?? We're getting results despite, not because of our form. Do you think it's acceptable to spend 21 million in January and in that time be 10th in the form league? That's an embarrassment if you ask me! He has a season ticket.

This is classic Nicos cake and eat it argument style. I don't like Pards but people underestimate him...I want him gone but don't trust MA to get the right man, we create chances but we don't score many goals...etc....I see you..You rascal!!

I'm not happy with it. I'm not happy with my small cock but I'm not going to chop the f***er off either. Tbf you can't replace your cock. That's the point of the analogy. I've as much faith in Ashley bringing in better than i have of my cock growing back. Hang a dumbell from it nightly.

They're waiting to make money before they'll spend it. The whole ethos of the coming year at the beginning of the season was get by with what we have. Don't invest in the coming season, get to the end in a decent position like last year, reap those rewards, then see what we can do on the back of it. Cups were played with youth and second team players including EL, obviously the summer, didn't really approach games tactically on the front foot and pro active - We went about the start of this year pretty much exactly the same as we did the previous. Nothing was to harm our League performances and potential standing. Obviously that shot them in the fucking foot as poor cup performances really compounded our poor League performance. You can argue its a logical argument. League placings earn you money, cups don't. And there in lies the entire philosophy that we'd began to forget about after last season. This year has been a huge reminder. They didn't seem to want to consider the blatant fact that the teams in the league would try and improve upon their previous season. Or maybe they did but were okay with that. 'Let them kick on and spend money, there's the 3 teams coming up from the Championship. We'll at the very least finish higher than them.' It's been 'bare minimum needed' all season. I'm not sure I can see that changing that much. We'll buy in the summer yes, will it be good enough come September, will players have left, will we have adequately replaced those that have left? Dont know. Will Pardew have gone? Dont know. Will our football be better? Dependant upon the first 2. I'm literally just glad it's pretty much over. Good post. It's got so bad now that I literally have more belief in Ashley than Pardew. Let's not forget the Jan window was a good one as nearly everyone on here at the time was cock-a-hoop. I personally believe that part of the fuck up in the summer was that Pardew is a yes man and didn't have the will or balls to knock on MA's door with anything resembling demands about pushing on or whatever. On the contrary he cast himself as some kind o salesman and set about talking up the squad as the window closed. Slick? It was very shortsighted and he very quickly found himself in the firing line and then pronto started checklisting his book of excuses. Pardew is literally the worst foil for the kind of scouting set up and financial rigour we have in place...He doesn't have the tactical nous or football intelligence or awareness to get the best out of the group of players we've sourced, mostly incredible bargains of a decent standard. Still think Sissoko and co will prove that we have an astute scouting template...Wasted on the donkey incharge. Out of his depth.

Compare this twaddle to all the players saying how much confidence Martinez gives them.

He's been in professional football for 25 years, if he doesn't know by now how to do stuff - he'll never learn.
-
Yobo and Stubbs were a decent pairing, but apart from Rooney the rest is very average.
-
Could Wigan win their last two?
-
Ran himself into the ground today and well taken goal.
-
Our main issue seems to be a cluster of really thick players.
-
Two packs of choc bikkies kind of tension.
-
Leicester - Watford showed more composure.
-
We look fukin ragged and dour. Any other team in the league would have punished us by now.
-
We need to up it or bad things will happen.
-
Perch to give away pen nailed on.
-
Think we need one more.

Gouffran's work rate has been majestic. Mbia should be off the pitch imo, two ugly fouls.
