  1. IMO Origi is a better player at this level. But I thought he was being offered in the Lamar package.
  2. Apparently he kept clutching and rubbing his hamstring and Rafa called out 'Tight Gayle' and everyone laughed and he kept saying my name is Dwight and all the Spanish coaches laughed and the other players started hobbling and clutching their hamstring in mockery. Tight left the pitch in tears.
  3. Just ban him from football. I don't see the point of this human.
  4. Isn't Origi part of a package for a deal with a European club?
  5. Nice info I wonder how this compares to the norm for the PL and more importantly to us? The av in the PL 7. I only mentioned it to illustrate what bullshit Ashley is feeding us in terms of growing the club via player buying and selling at a profit over time. If that were the strategy we'd have a well developed scouting and evaluation network in place over the last decade. Afaik we have one bloke in the evaluation team and about 3/4 scouts. For a long time it was mainly just Carr and the reliance on agents feeding us ideas. Ashley has never bothered to put a strategy in place to implement his 'strategy'. In short it's all bullshit. Liverpool set up is about 16. https://www.thisisanfield.com/2013/06/liverpool-fc-scouts/
  6. Southampton have 40 scouts around Europe and a central database that is tweaked daily with reports.
  7. We've bought about 6 good players in 10 years. 10 fucking years! As you say the rest are dodgy, poorly researched or cheap punts. They can't even lie convincingly about their strategy.
  8. For Ashley's 'strategy' to make sense we'd have to have a world class scouting network. So it's been clear for a decade his strategy is just smoke and mirrors to buy mainly punts and shit and the odd good player. You can't shift shit.
  9. Probably cause a credible No.10 will be expensive and clubs like to hold onto good keepers.
  10. Aye, Merino's going to be a drain on this club for years. Just like Atsu. What wasters. Yeah cause that was my point. We haven't bought quality in any significant numbers under Ashley. Maybe one or two a season at best. ie Hence why most of our players are hard to shift.
  11. We rarely buy marketable players. I can only think of half a dozen in a decade. Cabaye, Sissoko, Remy, Ba, Hatem, Winjaldum...We got lucky with Enrique and Bassong. I'd say in this window possibly Lejeune will be marketable. We buy mainly dross and it's been going on since Ashley took over.
  12. Spun from dragon gold by mages on the high mountains.
  13. Nice to see Atsu running freely with the ball and having a pop. Steal at 6m.
  14. He'll have signed an NDA which will last at least a year.
  15. Fuck off blaming the fans, man. It's Mike, not the supporters. Remember when Pardew blamed the fans? It's a cunt's trick. Most wrongly blaming the fans are subscribers of SKY which funds Mike far far more than any turnstile. 2 games into the season and already the internet turns on fellow fans, a good percentage of whom have been going for decades. Love owt like this. I gave up going 3 years ago because I couldn't stomach putting a single penny more in Mike Ashley's pocket. If everyone else had done the same, he'd be a distant memory. An absolute martyr. Keep doing what you're doing mate, cling on to Mike. He'll change. He's promised. If nobody turned up to games Mike would still be here collecting the huge amounts of TV money. Money which dwarves the gate receipts. "Distant memory" He's a money man and cares not one bit about the fans. Your opinion, I disagree. Keep stuffing your money into his pockets. See how much it helps. I'm not I'm just sticking up for the distasteful slagging off of the common man suffering a rich man's lies. Just keep ignoring the SKY thing, though. The sky thing is a strawman really though. As other fans of other clubs are going to keep buying sky, casual fans etc. A lot of newcastle fans giving up sky isn't going to affect him even remotely. Sky won't lose money. They don't agree PL deals for rights based on our fans. They would not like an empty SJP tho as for advertisers it taints the brand We're talking about the money from sky being more important to Mike than gate receipts. Not the running of sky itself. Even if the ground was empty the only people it would hurt would be the fans. Sky money would still keep coming, regardless. Don't get me wrong, an empty ground would look awesome...but slagging off the fans is just not right. It's distasteful and playing out the rich man's rhetoric. I know but I'm saying it wouldn't, he would demonstrably lose money. Thats a fact. Full ground plus sky money or not full ground plus sky money. He will be losing money. Then concessions lose money, sponsors don't want to know. Sky doesn't want to show our games, How dog shit company gets less exposure and looks worse. Blaming the fans isn't the issue i'm on about really, I do not agree that an empty ground only hurts us Correct.
  16. On promotion we needed 5 first team players we got one: Lejeune. That is the beginning and end of the story. Rafa basically had Reina and Abraham in the bag and the club fucked it up. Both are better than the players we have in those positions now. That's not me writing Joselu off...Abraham has the pace and close control to not only keep back lines deep he looks like the type that can manufacture chances for the team.
