Would have been in big trouble this season without Lukaku. Everyone just runs up the pitch.
-
True dat. We basically bought a bloke who said he was unhappy at Roma scored 2 in 13 in Serie A, wanted to go back to Russia on loan, didn't train properly and fans complained that he didn't warm up either when he came on. He avoids excess activity. This might run counter to his chosen profession as a footballer.
-
He rarely trained at Roma btw because he didn't want to - just played games. Probably why when he arrived we were shocked at his fitness.
-
In 2/3 years he'll be decent and by that I mean 10/12 goals a season and good hold up play. The 5 or so he's missed this season will go in and his all round play will improve. I don't see him as a Tier One striker ever, mainly because he lacks pace, seems ungainly and is an average finisher. Clearly been bought as a sell on and suddenly lumbered with all the pressure of a relegation battle has done his state of mind no good at all.

Because your average football fan bases their opinion on mainstream media and MOTD. ...and they are highly suggestible especially using bright colours.

Typical of a deep thinker. It's what I tell Mrs P anyway.

Panicked and ended up doing the worst thing.
-
Looks like he will be a good squad def in the future but clearly doesn't look ready yet.
-
We might have got away with not buying a commanding CD and not getting a proper LB, but the cardinal sin was expecting a rookie striker with no pace to score the 18/20 goals this season. He has been the personification of the catastrophic recruiting policy with reg to age and sell on value.
-
Surely people saw enough last night to be quietly confident?
-
Alternatively he thinks we should have got something tonight and minor adjustments would have done so. As I said in the pre-match thread, this fixture (and its timing) was never likely to produce any points. It's more important that he's learnt enough about the squad to get more out of them starting with the derby. Today it was all about the performance and coming so soon after his arrival was always going to be very difficult. There were many encouraging signs there for the upcoming games.

This is the big one. Whatever happens we'll see a massive difference in the side. -
