Big Sam was sacked that Jan cause he wanted and righly so, to spend in that window. He could see we needed two or three more players and iirc he was keen on Diarra.

silly silly parky. who says he's a 10million player ? how many times does everyone say player x is worth a certain price but he moves for twice that ? and it often works in reverse too. Well he ain't coming. Totally pointless exercise.

Why bid 5m for a 10m pound player?

It looks like Kinnear is just being fed information by somebody and doesn't really have a handle on what is transpiring behind the scenes.

To tell us now that MA is going to make a statement when the window closes is good psychology on their part, it implies that they are focussed on the window and that they recognise that this window is important to us. It also cleverly puts MA back in the center of things, when we're actually all trying to forget about the dopey fat git. Textbook. I'm with Wullie on this, for if he was a sincere man he and the management team of the club would have kept us sufficently abreast of things and continued an ongoing dialogue through good times and bad. I suspect MA is looking to re-engage back with the club and supporters now that his business world looks depressing by the day. Whatever he says I would take it with a pinch of salt, unless we've signes a handful of quality players that is.

He was terrible at right back. He's the third best CM at the club though, and is the best right winger. Played well enough there for Chelsea the season before he joined us, just reckon he wasn't given a real go to settle in there. But aye, just hope we replace him and then bring in another body on top of that (oo-err) Legs of a 40yr old [Mourinho\]

That's just lies he makes up to keep us quiet. I don't think he has the vaguest interest in us any longer.

This is Kinnear removing himself from any blame for when the window locks shut and we sign nobody. I strongly suspect he knows he will have to sell to buy. I think JK has known from day one there is no money and has been carrying on about 12m or two Italians or an Italian and an Argentinean [add countries/players/any combination] to keep us fed and onside. JK's project is JK he now has a job he dearly wants to hold onto and part of that is making himself the good guy in our eyes (the staged rants, the abuse of officials) all part of his man against the world agenda and keeping us focussed away from the truth, which is the club have no money, they don't really know what they are doing and he is a very average (not for want of trying) manager. My reading is the best we can hope for is a loan or two or a free signing, I will fall off my chair if we pay good money for a good player in this window (unless we sell player for big money first). Peace.
