Thing is, despite all this being correct, on the continent Spurs are still very often considered to be the bigger or more "glamorous" club. At least that is my experience. They have a lot of flops, some are bigger money than others. They have ruined a lot of England prospects likes of Davenport and Huddlestone spring to mind, Davis was highly rated in his Fulham days, and Routledge with palace. I think we are either on par or slightly better than Spurs. The Carling Cup is a mickey mouse tournament and I will not consider it a "Major trophy" even if we won it tomorrow. I don't think anyone is saying they'd prefer Ramos over Keegan tbf Parky, people are just pointing out that a young lad playing in Europe would look more favourable towards Ramos than Keegan considering the one has qualified for the Champions league, won the Uefa cup twice, the Copa Del Ray and the Uefa Supercup in the past 3 years. Spurs and Newcastle are the only two clubs with realistic and sustainable top 4 ambitions. Spurs are about a year a ahead of us. A correctly implimented plan of development and ambition should have us ready within 3 years to make a proper assault.

Keegan himself has said you need to speak to Jimenez and Vetere/Wise about transfers more than once. Although it is clear he has his own list and these things are discussed round robin. I personally would like KK involved as much as poss in transfers, however Vetere etc have a much better idea of what's out there.

I'm not so sure. It was closer to £11m Spurs paid for Berbatov. I can see the potential profit on him and the potential losses on Bent alone cancelling each other out. Anyway, you're right... enough. Spurs are not worth getting worked up over either way. Bent is only worth £2 million? Why, how much have they sold Berbatov for? He will go for around £25 million. Why? How much do you think both players would go for if they were sold? I would have said up to £20m for Berbatov and £9-10m for Bent. I'd be stunned if anyone (bar Wistham) paid £10m for Bent.
