You'll find out next season. parky you always pretend to have some sort of arcane knowlage. i think it is perfectly plausable that arda turan would be better in the PL than modric, not saying he will, modric is certainly rated more, but neither have played in good leagues, turkey's league is better than croatia's though. In all honesty Arda isn't the droid you're looking for. Certainly very promising player though.

Had a decent game, looked lively and scored the winner at the death. Like it being deflected makes any difference. He had an ok game, not bad, but also no wanking material either (as it seems to some). Why do deflected goals not make a difference? Nobody wants to take the goal away from him, but 'keeper would probably have saved it otherwise, so it was less a matter of skills than of luck. 9m is overpriced imho anyway and I can't see any increase of value just based on this performance (which would be ridiculous anyway, even if he had played really well). Agree. Our reported 8m ceiling if the reports are true is the max I'd go. I really think Modric is a far better player as things stand now.

Our reported offer of 8m is nearer the mark. i'm not sure if he will need too much bedding in, he seemed to be ready for a battle from what i saw, and unlike say robert (who i am a huge fan of btw) he is a left winger (or attacking midfielder) who will tackle back, and try and win the ball, and tries harder than robert. whether he is worth 13 million, maybe, maybe not, but players valuations are up in the sky atm, and i would be very happy with us spending that sum on a player that can vastly improve the team, than missing out and spending 6-8 on another average player (like the signing of smith), because even average players being bought by PL clubs usually go for around that nowadays. whether he can vastly improve our team, i don't think we'll be able to say based on this tournement, but he seemed to have fairly good defensive attributes, and he attacks defenders, and we need a player who can do that. i also thought he showed great composure to finish that, even with a deflection, in the 92nd minute. i thought he took his chance very well. No dount he is a good prospect. If we could nick him for around 8m fine. Seemed to enjoy coming in from the left whereas our primary target ought to be a pacy right winger imo. Hopefully he'll get another game on a dry pitch. Good prospect.

did you bet against them like? i was very tempted at half time and before the game to put a tenner on 3-1 spain, so fabregas' goals made me feel a lot better if they play like this every game i think they will stop holland playing, should both teams meet in the semi's and it will be a germany spain final. Nah, running a prediction league with my mates and had them down for a draw. Thought Spain would bottle it and Russia would really go out all guns blazing. Spain played very well, but really disappointed with the Ruskies. Tbf to the Russians it is still a learning process for them at this level.
